Chapter Twenty-Nine - Camping

----------- Volcano Kingdom ------------

The 5 kings and the 1 queen split up, going in separate directions from each other. 2 going left, 2 going right, and 2 going straight ahead.

The tunnel ran directly down and underneath the Volcano Kingdom. It's barely used, but it's handy for escape routes when it's needed.

Shelby and Sapnap sped down the left tunnel as fast as they could, not expecting a long slope to come their way as they tripped and fell, sliding down it like it was a slide

"What do we do?!" Shelby squeels, trying to grab something.

Sapnap looks around, also panicked. "I don't know! I just hope that there isn't a bunch of rocks down there" he says.

As they approached the bottom, Shelby gasped as she saw the solid ground coming closer and closer, and she panicked, her powers activating.

Sapnap gasped as he saw Shelby's entire body glow and a large white fluffy flower is spread across the ground below. They both land in it, their landing being cushioned.

"Whoa" Sapnap speaks.

"S-Sorry, I panicked" Shelby blushes.

"No worries, but we should hurry" he says, climbing off of the flower, just as it disappears and Shelby hits the floor, thankfully not as hard as she probably would have from the top of the tunnels.

"Ouch" Shelby says, standing up and then following Sapnap down the tunnel, going a little slower this time.

Soon enough, the two of them come to a dead end, but Sapnap could see that the exit was just blocked off by some boulders, so he could melt them with his fire powers. He places his hands on them and Shelby watches as flames ignite around the black-haired king's hands. He takes a deep breath and they both see the rocks begins to melt.

Sapnap hisses and pulls his hands away after a few moments. "It's been a while since I've done that" he says before beginning to push the boulders away. Shelby comes over to help him.

Both of them use all of their upper body strength to push the boulders away, and soon, light pours through and the sound of the rain floods their ears. Shelby smiles in relief, it was like a blessing to her, but she knew the storm didn't mean anything good.

Soon, they climb out and begin making their way around the pathway. "Where should we go?" Sapnap asks, "We've to meet the others at Emberflare Palace tomorrow at 10" he says.

Shelby thinks for a moment as they continue to walk, "Well, I think once night comes around, we should set up camp, for now we should just try and avoid... uh... what was that demon lady's name?" she asks.

"Miseria, I believe" Sapnap answers.

"Oh yeah. Well, we should try and avoid her the best we can for now, along with all of these strange creatures" she says.

"Well, let's go find a cave or something to hide in for now" Sapnap says, grabbing Shelby's hand to pull her up a small drop.

Shelby gets pulled up and then they continue to walk.

(Time skip)

Night-time comes around and all 3 of the partners have set up camp somewhere on the outskirts of the Volcano Kingdom.

Shelby and Sapnap made camp under an overhang since they couldn't find a cave that was stable enough to hide in for the night. The moon, which was just coming up over the horizon, shone over the land, through the storm. Sapnap grabs a stick and lights it on fire with his powers, tossing it into the other sticks to turn it into a campfire. They both sit down on one side of it each and cook the food that Sapnap was smart enough to bring with him.
