Chapter Thirty- Meet at the Palace

Morning comes around and Shelby wakes up, her head still in Sapnap's lap from when she cried herself to sleep. Sapnap wasn't awake yet, but judging by the position of the sun, it was coming up to 7am. She sits up and wipes her face, still slightly damp from tears, with her sleeves. She knew they would need to head out soon, so she crawled over to the campfire where a bag of food lay beside it and took out a ready made tuna sandwich, munching down on it for the next few minutes before going to wake up Sapnap who had a frustrated look on his face.

She begins to shake him lightly, "Sapnap, it's time to wake up" she says.

Sapnap's eyes widen and he looks at her, "Morning Shelby" he says grumpily, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. "You okay?" she asks.

"Eh... just having a chat with Echo" he grumbles, "I'm fine though" he says with a small smile. Shelby nods and hands him a sandwich too. He thanks her and begins to eat it while packing up his blanket. Shelby does the same thing.

Soon enough, they began their walk to the Emberflare Palace, being careful incase any creatures were to find them and attack before they could defend themselves. The rain was slightly lighter today, at least so far. It was still very cloudy and dark, but it was not as bad as it was yesterday.

"How are you feeling after what happened last night?" he asks the red-haired Queen of the Desert.

Shelby frowns, "I just don't understand what I saw..." she says, "I mean, yes, I saw my mum, my future self and Void Shelby... but what does this all mean?" she asks.

"I'm not sure Shelby... it could mean anything. Did they tell you anything?" he asks.

"My future self said to me that if we lose this battle against Miseria, then I'm going to die... and I think that probably means you guys would too" she says shakily.

Sapnap sighs, "We can only hope that we don't" he says, "Me, Dream and George, we'll stand by you and your friends through all of this" he smiles.

"Thank you" Shelby says softly with a small smile.

The moment was interrupted by the sound of footsteps behind them. They snap around to look at whatever it was, and they see a strange dragon like creature, but with golden scales, and it was half the size of a normal dragon.

Shelby paled as she looked up at the large creature. "What is that...?" she mumbles scared-like.

"A wyvern" Sapnap says, grabbing her hand and making a run for it. The wyvern roars and fly's after them. Sapnap, while running, thinks of a plan on how to get away from this thing without either of them getting hurt. He grins and spins around, throwing a wave of fire at the creature.

The fire makes contact and the wyvern roars out in pain. Shelby stops and watches as Sapnap throws wave after wave of fire at the creature. Shelby wanted to help, so she pulled her bow and arrow from her back and aimed at the wyvern. "Sapnap, watch out!" she shouts as she launches the arrow directly at the creature's chest. Sapnap ducks while tossing another wave of fire at the wyvern.

Arrow after arrow flew at the dragon from all different directions as Shelby ran in circles around the dragon like creature. Fire rained down from the sky too and soon, the wyvern was down, disappearing into ash. Sapnap stumbled slightly and then fell to the ground, breathing deeply. Shelby rushes over to him, "Are you okay?" she asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I haven't used that much fire power in a long time. It's exhausting, y'know?" he smiles.

Shelby nods and helps him to his feet, and they continue walking. "Who taught you how to use a bow?" Sapnap asks, looking at Shelby's handcrafted bow made especially for her, and her alone.
