Chapter Ten- Base on Both Sides

------------- Desert Kingdom/Alvarian Grasslands----------------

Shelby smiles as she pulls on her Elytra. It's been 3 days since Scott, Callum and Shelby decided to make their own base in the Alvarian Mountains and make their own mini bases somewhere in their own kingdoms.

Shelby has almost finished making the layout of her base. It's basically just a rectangle (Her first base in KingdomCraft), but she's likes the idea so far. "Shelby, where are you going?" Ross asks as he walks into Shelby's bedroom. Shelby freezes. She hadn't told Ross about the whole group base thing, only the personal base.

"Uh... I'm just going for a fly around, don't worry" she smiles. Ross looks her up and down, "Okay" he says, "Just be careful" he says before walking out, closing the door behind him. Shelby takes a deep breath as she walks onto her balcony. She had her backpack with her, which only held a few items. A jacket, boots, her crown and a bottle of water. Taking a deep breath, she leaps off of the balcony and launches a firework, shooting herself into the sky. She grins as she reaches just below the highest turret of Sandshire Castle.

She continues to glide across the skyline. Scott told her to meet him outside the kingdom gates. Since Shelby hasn't been too far into the grasslands, she might need somebody to guide her there. Callum is gonna meet them there since his kingdom kind of overlooks the Alvarian mountains, so he knows where he's going.

As Shelby nears the gate, she kind of angles herself to fly down, but keeps herself in a safe position so she won't go face first into the grass and/or sand. She smiles as she sees Scott waiting for her. He didn't seem to have an Elytra, so maybe they're walking?

She sucks in a breath as she carefully lands down infront of Scott. He smiles and waves. "Hey Shelby" he greets the Desert Queen.

"Hi Scott!" she chirps, "So, what's the plan? Are we walking?" she asks.

Scott nods, "Yeah. I don't have an Elytra of my own. We could of brought the horses, but we don't want guards to realise that we're not in the Kingdoms if the horses are gone" he points out.

Shelby nods, but then gets an idea. "How about... I carry you?" Shelby asks. Scott raises an eyebrow, "You think that's a good idea? What if I accidently fall?" he asks.

Shelby raises an eyebrow too, "Do you doubt me?" she asks, playfully.

Scott shakes his head, "No no, I'm just nervous, that's all" he chuckles.

Shelby laughs with him before leading him to a slight advantage point so that she'll have enough time to set off a firework after she jumps. "Actually, here, you're in charge of the fireworks" she says, handing the firework rockets to Scott. He nods with a smile. Shelby realises how tall Scott is compared to her, but shrugs with a smile and holds him under the arms. "Ready?" she asks.

Scott nods, "Ready" he says, holding a firework at the ready.

Shelby uses all her strength to lift herself and Scott off the ground before shouting, "NOW!".

Scott launches the firework and up they go, high into the sky. Shelby hoped that her holding onto Scott wouldn't make it so her wings would be weighted down. So far, they seemed okay.

Scott looks around, his teal hair waving in the wind slightly. Shelby's red hair was doing the same thing, just more flying, almost curling around at some point and going into Scott's face. Now she wished that she put it in a braid so this wouldn't happen.

Shelby notices the slight decline in speed, "Scott, another firework please" she smiles.

"I gotchu!" he calls, launching another firework behind them and they shoot across the sky again. Shelby looks around in surprise at the land around her. She had never seen anything like it. The lakes, the grasslands, the many trees, the flowers, everything!
