Chapter Five- Who did this?

----------- Birch Kingdom ------------

Joel slouched back in the park bench outside of the castle. He smirks. The Desert must be in fear now, scared to find out who blew a hole in their lands.

Opening his eyes, the birch king spotted his younger sister, Thea, coming up to the castle entrance on her horse. She sees him and growls, "Joel, what did you DO?!" she yells, obviously she had heard about the explosion in the Desert.

Joel rolled his eyes. She still does not understand. "I'm just doing Lizzie a favour, making sure that the Desert knows their place" he smirks.

Thea growls again, "You're not going to get anywhere in life" she says before continuing down the pathway to the stables to put her horse away.

Joel scoffs, "Yeah right. I'm going to be accomplished. She just doesn't understand" he mumbles to himself, "She'll understand one day".

------------- Desert Kingdom ---------------

Sand flew up around the 3 horse's feet as they galloped to the scene of the explosion. Shelby was scared to find out the damage done. She could see the outskirts of Vera now. She took a deep breath, gulped, and continued forward.

Skidding to a stop, she jumped off of Fayren and made her way towards Ross, who was waiting for her. Scott, Callum and Wesley were close behind her. "Ross!" Shelby shouts, getting Ross's attention.

Looking up, Ross sees his cousin coming towards him and sighs gratefully. Shelby looks at the hole and sighs in relief, "Okay, it's not as big as a thought it was" she says.

"Yeah, but nobody has been able to figure out who did it yet, Shelby" Ross says before looking at Scott and Callum, "Who are they?" he asks.

"Ross, this is Scott and Callum of the Mesa Kingdom and Volcano Kingdom, they're our new allies" Shelby says.

"Well, it's nice to meet you" Ross says, bowing down.

"You too" Scott says, walking up next to Shelby, Callum coming up too.

"So, you say that nobody seen anything?" Shelby asks the nearby guard.

"No, my Queen. Our only security camera in this area doesn't quite catch this corner, so we are left to wonder who did this" the guard says, "Do you propose that we fill the hole back in?" he asks.

Shelby nods, "Yes, fill it back in" she says.

The guard nods and bows, "I'll get the builders on that right away" he says before rushing off. Shelby looked around the perimeter of the crater for something but doesn't see anything that could help her figure out the culprit.

That was until...

"Wait, what's that?" Scott points out, pointing towards the nearby palm tree. Shelby and Callum follow his finger and look at the tree, and surely enough, they see something lying in the sand beside it. They rush over and Shelby digs it out.

"It's an Amethyst crystal" she says, holding it up, dusting it off with the end of her dress, "But our kingdom doesn't have Amethyst's, it's not our Kingdom Crystal. Our Crystal is Celestite, as you can see by my necklace" she says, holding up her necklace.

"Do you think this is a clue?" Callum asks.

"Possibly, but I don't know which kingdom's crystal is Amethyst" Shelby says, tucking it into her pocket.

"Do you know anybody here that would know?" Scott asks.

Shelby thinks for a second, "Yes, but he hasn't come back from his vacation yet" she says before walking back to the crater. Maybe Ross would know.
