--------------------- Desert Kingdom ------------------------

Shelby ran out of the castle and into Sandshire Gardens, hoping to maybe practice her powers a little. It's been a few days since she found out about them and she hasn't told anybody. Even though Ross and Max have an idea about it since they saw her surrounded in flowers, she hasn't told them if that was true.

She looks around, making sure there are no guards nearby. She doesn't have any clue how to work her powers, so she might be here for a while trying to figure it out. She doesn't want to ask any of the magic users because she doesn't want to risk anybody finding out. It'll get obvious if Shelby keeps showing up at one of the magic user's houses.

Shelby looks at her hands before closing her eyes, squeezing her hands into fists, hoping that she'll feel something, but nothing happens. So, then she squeezes her hands tighter, no doubt her knuckles were white by this point, but she didn't open her eyes to check. She held a tight and tense posture.

After about 5 minutes of doing this, she only felt a tiny spark on her hands, but that was all she felt. Shelby relaxes her body and hands, swiping her forehead to get rid of the sweat. She wanted to be able to figure all of this out on her own. She never was the type of person to ask for help, only when she felt it was really needed.

She thought about how the flowers grew when she was lying in the sand, and she wondered if she had to do that again. She huffed before laying down in the grass instead of the sand. She looked at the sky for a moment for closing her eyes and breathing as normally as possible, but to say that Shelby was stressed, it was an understatement.

Soon, she got a rhythm in her breathing and smiles, relaxing her body as much as she could. About a minute later, after continuing her relaxation, she felt a small magical feeling in her arms she did not open her eyes, but through the darkness of her eyelids, she saw a small glow, a yellow glow.

About 20 seconds later, that glow disappeared, and Shelby opened her eyes to see the same number of yellow flowers around her. She smiled happily and sat up. Lightly grazing her pale hand over the top of one of the flowers, she felt that they were in fact real and not illusions like some magic can be. She could create real flowers! Is it only yellow, though? Only Shelby, and time, can figure that one out.

She saw that they had a small glow to them, they sparkled, almost like glitter, but it was a magic aura that only Shelby could feel. She didn't dare pick one, just in case it messed with her powers. She didn't want them to disappear, but she had a feeling that they would disappear as soon as she stood up, like they did last time.

Shelby sat there for a few more minutes, examining every single flower that sat around her. It was very shocking to her. She never thought that she had powers

Soon enough, she stood up and stepped out of the ring of flowers. A few seconds later, the flowers faded away, leaving the normal grass patch that was always there. She smiled a little before looking towards the sky. The sun was high in the sky and beaming down on the Desert, sending hot rays of light across everybody. Shelby was scared for when the hottest day of the year comes around, because that is usually when the Desert loses a lot of the population. Shelby remembered the last time that Alvaria had its hottest day, she was sick for 2 weeks after that. People say that she was lucky to survive that day since her fever reached its highest point.

Shaking the thought out of her mind, she held her hands up. Maybe if she stayed relaxed, her powers would work. She took deep breaths while her eyes were closed before fluttering them open. She sees a glow start to form around both of her hands and she sees flower illusionary flower petals. A flower forms in her hands and turns into a real flower. Instead of yellow though, this flower was a very pale blue, almost white. Shelby smiled and held it up to the sun as her powers stopped.
