Chapter Four- Hurry Back

----------- Castle Firestone ~ Mesa Kingdom ~ 6:32am ------------

The sun slowly began to rise on the horizon, shining brightly over the Mesa Kingdom. The terracotta grounds of the Kingdom began to shimmer from the rain that fell in the middle of the night. King Scott, Queen Shelby, King Callum and Princess Cady were all still asleep in their respective bedrooms. As were Shelby, Callum and Cady's 2 guards, or so they thought.

Shelby woke up to the sound of a knock on the door of her temporary bedroom. Sitting up, she rubbed her tired eyes. Glancing at the large clock on the wall, she saw the time and groaned. She normally woke up around 7am but waking up half an hour earlier was not natural, and she didn't like it.

"Just a moment..." Shelby slightly shouts, slipping out of the bed and going to her backpack to get changed into her dress, shoes, and then grabbing her crown from the nightstand, putting it on before going to the door.

Opening it up, she saw her guard, Wesley, standing there with a worried expression. "Sorry to wake you up, Queen Shelby, but I heard emergency news from the Desert" he says.

Shelby's eyes widen, hearing that there is an emergency going on in her kingdom.

"What happened?" she asks.

"An explosion went off about half a mile away from Sandshire Castle in the middle of the night and they can't find the culprit. The explosion went off pretty close to the outskirt houses of the small village of Vera" Wesley informs.

Shelby's eyes widen more and she begins to panic. She rushes back into her bedroom, grabs her bow, her backpack and her quiver before rushing out of the room. She hadn't brushed her hair this morning, but she was way too panicked to care about something so small as what her hair was doing.

Wesley ran after her, "What would you like me to do?" he asks.

"Go to the Mesa Stables, get Fayren and Morren ready. We need to hurry back!" Shelby orders, "I'll go inform Scott and Callum" she says before speeding down the hallway to her left.

"Yes, your majesty!" Wesley says, continuing down the stairs to the ground floor.

Shelby slid to a stop outside of Scott's bedroom, two guards were outside. "Queen Shelby, what are you doing here?" one of the guards asks.

"Please, I need to speak to Scott! It's an emergency!" Shelby pleads. She feared for her kingdom.

The two guards looked at each other before stepping aside, obviously noticing the distress in the Desert Queen's eyes.

Shelby sighed in relief before going up to the door, knocking a few times before going in. "Scott! Scott, it's an emergency!" she says as she sees the Mesa King sitting up in his bed.

"What happened?" he asks, standing up and going over to calm Shelby down.

"Wesley received a message from the Desert saying that an explosion went off in the middle of the night! I need to get back!" she says. Scott could see that Shelby was on the verge of tears from fear.

"Okay, okay, stay calm. Go get Callum and Cady, I'll meet you guys at the front of the castle" Scott says.

"Are you sure? You don't need to come with me" Shelby says.

Scott nods, "We're allies now, it's the least I can do to show my appreciation. Plus, we're the League of Vengeance, we work together" he says.

Shelby takes a deep breath, "O-Okay..." she says before turning and rushing out of Scott's bedroom. She continued down the hallway to get to Callum and Cady's bedroom. They are sharing a room.
