Chapter Twenty- Light to Dark

---------------- Swamp Kingdom ~ Sea Swamp Palace -----------------

Meghan knew she had to make peace with the League of Vengeance sooner or later, before they could never find a way to forgive her. Lizzie told her about the failed kill attempt of Queen Shelby, and now Meghan knew that it would be only a matter of time before they would never forgive her for joining the Villains.

So she knew what she was going to do, first thing tomorrow, she's going to go to the Desert and request an audience with the royals of the Desert, Mesa and Volcano, since she is aware of them all staying there while the Desert Queen recovers from what had happened.

This would be the 2nd other kingdom she'd have been to, she was nervous about it since she wasn't used to super-hot climates.

"Queen Meghan, dinner is almost ready for you" a guard says as he walks into Meghan's room. Meghan looks at him and nods, "Thank you Jay, I'll be right there" she says.

The guard nods, bows and then leaves the room.

Meghan let's out a breath and makes out way out of the room to follow the guard.

------------------ Desert Kingdom ~ Sandshire Castle -----------------

(Next Day)

Shelby awoke to the sun pouring in through the windows like every day. Shadow was laying down next to Shelby, her ears perked up like she was listening for something. "Morning Shadow" Shelby mumbled with a small smile, petting the dogs back and head, before sitting up. She felt a little better today, which was good.

She made her way to her closet to get ready for the day. She pulled out a simple light-yellow knee length dress and some white sandals. After pulling them on, she grabs her brush from her nightstand and goes over to the mirror, brushing her long dark red hair. She was still a little tired, but she was okay none the less.

After brushing her hair, she grabbed her crown from it's casing on her nightstand and placed it on her head before heading out the door of her bedroom and into the hallway to go wake up Scott, Callum and Cady.

After doing so, all 4 of them walk downstairs to go get breakfast. Shelby didn't have any royal tasks to do today, so she could have this day to rest after what happened yesterday. Sitting down at the dining table, Shelby picks up and spoon and begins eating her cereal. Well, dry cereal. Shelby never liked milk, so she always had dry cereal.

"How are you feeling today, Shelby?" Scott asks.

She shrugs, "Okay, I guess. How long are you guys planning on staying here for? Won't you need to get back to your kingdoms?" she asks.

"Well, Cady and I will probably head off in about 2 hours" Callum answers, "I do have a couple royal tasks to do today" he says.

Shelby nods, "What about you Scott?" she asks.

"I'll probably head off in a couple hours too" he says.

Shelby nods again and gets back to eating her dry cereal. Scott, Callum and Cady do the same thing.

A couple hours go by and Shelby waves Scott, Callum and Cady goodbye as they head off on their horses. She takes a deep breath before walking back into the castle. She didn't really know what else to do today, other than rest, or go for a walk.

Then she paused, deciding to go and hang out with her friends for the day.

Meghan pulls her bag on over her shoulders. She's finally going to try and make peace with the League of Vengeance. Walking into the hallway, she waves to them as she goes by.
