We got back to the hotel and it was pitch black outside. The only people walking around were those who were about our age. When we got back to the room, Riley went straight to the bathroom and eventually came out wearing her bikini with a towel tucked under her arm. She didn’t say anything as she grabbed a room key and walked out the door. I didn’t exactly feel like sitting in this room by myself, but I also didn’t want to leave.

I walked out onto the balcony and looked down. Below me was a giant swamp. I felt like Repunzel or something. From where I was, I could see the pool perfectly. Thanks to the lights that were hanging everywhere. I saw Riley walk across the bridge and throe her towel on the lawn chair. She walked to the end of the pool and jumped in, swam over to the falls and disappeared behind it.

I sighed and sat down. But as soon as I did, there was a knock on the door. I stood back up and walked to the front door. I expected to see Zayn, but instead I saw Niall. “Can we talk?” Niall asked. I nodded and let him in. Niall followed me through the room and out onto the balcony. I sat back down in my chair and Niall leaned on the railing while looking over at the pool. “What did you want to talk about?”

“I didn’t mean what I said earlier.” He started. I stood up and crossed my arms. “I just knew that if I kept saying I didn’t like anybody that they wouldn’t believe me. So I lied.” He continued. I opened my mouth to reply but there was another knock at the door. I quickly made my way inside. I made sure to look through the peephole before opening the door.

“Is Riley here?” Harry asked. I raised an eyebrow and shook my head. “She went to the pool.” I told him. Harry thanked me and headed towards the elevators. I walked back outside and saw Niall chewing on his nails. “Go on.” I sat down. He shuffled on his feet and sighed. “I don’t know why you’re mad at me and Riley, but she didn’t do anything. If you want to be mad at somebody, be mad at me. Not her.”

“And why should I be mad at you?” I asked him. He shrugged and scratched the back of his neck. “Because I lied.” I shook my head at him. “I’m not mad at either of you.” I told him. And I wasn’t. I realized that I was only mad at myself for even considering the fact that Niall might like me and I took it out on them. Niall smiled at me and held his arms out for a hug. I almost did hug him until I heard a very faint yell.

“Get away from me!”

“Was that Riley?” Niall asked. I ran over to the railing and looked towards the pool. There was about who looked about nineteen that kept grabbing at Riley’s waist. He said something to her and she responded by pushing him away. She yelled at him some more but I couldn’t hear what she was saying.

I noticed Harry running towards them, calling Riley’s name. She noticed but her attention was turned back to the boy as he grabbed her face and kissed her. She punched and kicked him but it was no good. He didn’t budge until Harry tackled him into the water.

I hadn’t even noticed I was running to them until I was crossing over the bridge and in front of Riley. Harry jumped out of the water and ran over to her. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?” He asked, placing his hands on her cheeks. “I’m fine.” She laughed, pushing Harry away.

“Hey!”

Nobody had realized that the boy had gotten out of the pool and was heading straight towards us. Riley ran over beside me and we slightly backed away. Harry turned to him and crossed his arms over his chest. “This your girl?” The boys asked Harry. “No, but-” Harry didn’t even have time to finish before he was punched in the face, being sent into the water.

“Oh my God!” I screamed. When Harry didn’t surface right away, Riley jumped in after him. I turned to girl this guy a piece of my mind but found Niall crouched over top of him, punching him repeatedly. I assumed he had been knocked out cold, seeing as he wasn’t moving or anything. “Niall, stop. He’s out.” I said, carefully holding his arms back. He stood and almost stumbled backwards into the pool.

I heard a faint laugher and squinted into the dim light at two security guards walking our way. At least they hadn’t seen us. Yet. “We have to go.” I panicked. “Now!” By this point, Riley had somehow gotten Harry out of the pool and was trying to wake him up. Niall ran over to them and managed to pick up Harry’s limp body and start running with it. We were shocked, but Ri and I trailed after them.

“Guess somebody’s been working out.” Riley said, nudging me in the side. I laughed and shook my head at her.

We found a side door and slipped into the hotel. We were careful not to be seen carrying a limp body around and as soon as we made it back to my room, Niall put Harry’s body down on the bed. “Will he be okay?” I asked. I could already see the purple bruise that was forming on his cheek, and there was still some blood dripping out of a cut on his lip. “He’s breathing, so he should be fine.” Niall responded, dapping at the blood with a cloth.

“Should be?”

Will be fine. He’ll wake up soon.” As if on cue, Harry began coughing and freaking out. Riley and I sat on the couch and watched as Niall tried to calm him down. “Where is he!” Harry shouted, trying to get up. Niall made him lie back down and calmed him. “It’s okay, he’s gone.” Niall said. Harry sighed and covered his eyes with his arm. “What happened?” he asked. I stood up from the couch and made my way over. “He punched you and you landed in the pool.” I said once I reached them.

Harry removed his arm to reveal his wide eyes. “I could have drowned! What was that idiot thinking!?” he yelled in frustration. “It’s okay, Riley pulled you out.” Niall told him. “Where is she?” Harry asked. He quickly sat up and his eyes scanned the room. Once the two locked eyes, Riley awkwardly waved and he smiled. “Thank you.” He said, She simply nodded in reply.

“Well… we should go to bed.” Riley spoke up after a few moments of silence. “Are we leaving again early tomorrow?” I groaned. Niall shook his head at me and laughed. “No, we’re just going to be hanging around the hotel.” I sighed, jumped in my bed and got comfortable. I had never loved a bed so much in my life. It was insane how tired I actually was. I watched Harry get off of Riley’s bed and walk over to her, He took her by surprised and pulled her into a big hug. “Thank you.” I heard him say again. After pulling away, he started walking towards the door to leave. “You owe her curly!” I called after him. He shot me a thumbs up and walked out, with Niall following behind.
