I woke up to my alarm clock driving me nuts. I pulled away from the desk looking at the mess of newspapers and books scattered everywhere. I looked over at the time, "Crap!" I said spinning around in my chair and throwing on a sweater and shorts and running out the door. I dragged my backpack behind me, throwing it up on my shoulder so I could put my hair in a bun. I ran through the door to school giving me Two minutes to get to my locker, get my books and get to class, Majority of students had not come today since school was almost over so the halls were pretty empty. I ran up to the stairs just as Two was walking down them, "Hey Kitten." he said, I paused in my tracks almost falling on my face, "Woah woah, you ok." He said putting a hand on my arm. "Im...fine, I was up all night looking at jobs." I said between breaths. I stood up on my tiptoes and gave him a kiss on the cheek and then bolted off to class. I had my math finals today and had just about enough energy to do that but I felt dead for the rest of the day. After math I went off to Biology, luckily since it was finals week and I finished mine the day before I had the class period free. I pulled out a newspaper I had stuffed in my backpack and went through circling jobs. I found a couple before the lunch bell rang and I took the paper with me to look through during lunch. I just bought an apple and walked over to Two s car, "Hey Kitten." Two said smiling while I walked over, "Hi Two , Hey Pony." I said setting the paper down on the hood of the car. "You're still up to this?" Two questioned looking over my shoulder at the paper. "Yes, I'm trying to put as much effort into this as I possibly can so I can rub it in Steve's face." I said with a tired smile. Two snickered and placed a hand on my shoulder to get a better look. "God I feel defeated though, I only got what could've been an hour of sleep." I said rubbing my forehead. "Then let me look, you worry about school and finals." He said placing a hand on the newspaper and turning me to look at him. "No...No the agreement was I had to do it, I have to find you a job and you have to keep it for longer than a week." I said exasperated. "I see, go ahead." he said, moving his hand so I could see the paper. I smiled and went back to looking at the paper. I didn't end up touching the apple before lunch was over so I just threw it in my locker and went to gym. It was going fine but I could feel myself growing more faint as we ran the track. I went to run another lap so I could stop and get a drink of water, but I felt my body give out the second I went to take another step. I dropped hard on the track and laid there for a second. The coach ran over and sat me up feeling my forehead. "You don't feel warm kid, do you feel sick." He said helping me stand up. "N-no I think i'm just tired." I said steadying myself. "Sherry, come help her to the nurses office." He yelled over to the first person he saw. "Great." I whispered under my breath. The coach took my arm off his neck and rest it on Cherry's shoulder. "Hi...again." She said helping me up the steps to the door. "N-no talking please." I said rubbing my temples. "Oh sorry." she said looking behind her just as Pony ran up to us. "Hey Catherine what happened I watched you fall." He said catching his breath. "You can head back Cherry I can take her there
." He said taking my arm as Cherry walked away. "What happened back there?" He said adjusting my weight against him. "I don't know...I'm just tired." I said looking over at him and back down. I rest my head against his shoulder and tried to lessen my weight against him but my legs were killing me. Pony started waving his hand at something but I was having trouble focusing. "Two over here!" I could hear his footsteps run over here Two lifted me up into his arms and out of Ponys grasp. "Catherine what happened?" He questioned. "She collapsed on the track, it's probably fatigue." Pony but in before I could speak, I didn't mind though the less effort I had to put into stuff the better I felt. I cuddled up against Two as he turned and carried me off to the nurses office. He laid me on the nurse's bed and told her everything but I fell asleep fast.
-Hour later-
I woke up just a little bit before the last class of the day was over. The nurse gave me a pass to get my stuff and leave early. "I called your father but I got no answer so make sure to tell him when you get home." I nodded and rolled my eyes as I walked out the door. I went and collected homework from my AP Lit. class and headed to my locker to grab my bag. "Hey Cat!" I turned to face Two as I closed my locker. "Are you feeling any better?" He questioned. "Much!" I turned with a smile to face him. "You look happier." He said smiling as we walked out the entrance of the school. "Why are you leaving early?" I said as he closed the door behind me. "You ask this like I finish class on a normal day, plus I want to make sure you get home safe." He said kissing me on the cheek. We talked as he walked me home, I invited him in and he got a glass of water for both of us before we went back to my room. "Is this what you were doing last night?" He said walking over to my desk and filing through papers. "Yes, I never finished. I fell asleep at my desk last night." I said with a little laugh. "You can't keep this going, take a load off for a day and relax. You've got finals this week." He said sitting next to me and wrapping an arm around me. I smiled and rest my head on his shoulder. He rubbed my arm and we talked for a while. The rush of fatigue hit me again and I felt like I could fall asleep right then and there. He helped me to lay against the pillow and moved over to the desk. We talked for a while before I felt myself fall asleep. I could feel him lift the blanket over me and give me a kiss on the cheek. I slightly smiled and expected him to leave, but I could hear rustling through the newspaper and books. There was the click of a pen and the sound of writing or drawing. I couldn't tell what was going on and slowly I slipped into sleep and couldn't hear much anymore. But surprisingly I was happier to be near him than to be alone.
