I woke up wrapped up in my sheets and blankets, I laid staring at the ceiling confused for a while for why I was here did I really dream all of that? I sat up looking at my bedside table and a little note was there. "Hey Kitten, you ended up falling asleep so I carried you back home. <3 Two ." It made me smile although I was still confused about how he got me inside without waking anyone up but It still made me happy that he cared enough to bring me home instead of letting me sleep on a bench in the cold. I changed into high waisted shorts and a polo shirt with converse, grabbing my backpack and handbag and leaving the house. I stopped by the Dingo for a drink and to say good morning to Steve  And Soda and headed to school. I opened my locker to put my backpack away and grab my books and started to walk to class. I spotted Two down the hallway and waved at him, he walked over to me giving me a side hug and a hidden kiss on the cheek. "Well G'morning don't you look gorgeous." He said with a smile and quiet laugh. I blushed, "Thanks for taking me home last night." I said hugging my books to my chest. "Ah, it was nothing really kitten I didn't want you to freeze to death. You were already shivering as I carried you home." He said smiling. "Well thank you all the more." I laughed, the warning bell rang and I said my goodbyes running off to class. I dashed up the stairs to get to class nearly bumping into a redheaded soc. "I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention." I said picking up my book and binder and standing up. She looked at her group of friends that were obviously annoyed and looked back at me, her face changed into an aggravated look. "Ya well maybe you should Grease!" she said snarkily. I rolled my eyes, "Maybe I should." I said back at her and walked off. I didn't want to get into it today. I had too many important things going on in class to deal with her or her friends. I'm not one to shy away from a fight but i'm also not one to let my grades flop. I rushed into class sitting down just before the bell rang, I pulled out my homework and books and class began. I had to put my glasses on half way through to focus, I hate having to wear my glasses because they make me look like a nerd. I made it through my morning classes and grabbed my handbag walking off to lunch. I paid for lunch and walked out to Two 's car where we normally have lunch. Pony and Johnny   were already there with Two so I joined in on the conversation. "Nice glasses." Pony laughed looking over at me. I wondered why everything looked so clear, I quickly shot my hand up pulling them off my face and throwing them in my bag. My face was hot from embarrassment, I'd never really worn them in front of anybody other than Steve  and I already put up with enough crap from Steve  About them. "What'chu talkin about Pony, I think they fit her well." Two said glaring daggers over at him. "I guess so." Johnny   said quietly. Pony looked flushed and he looked back down at his sandwich. I look over at Two smiling. Lunch went by smoothly and I headed to Biology class, we had finals all week and Biology was my best subject so I had to make sure I aced this. I'd always been pressured to keep good grades so that I could be successful and get a college scholarship because I'd never be able to afford college if I didn't. Luckily I had a little college savings, Steve  put some in when he first got his job to encourage me not to drop out at my first year of highschool and I added in money here and there with summer jobs. But It would never be close to enough to pay for a year at college so it was all just a dream for now, I finished Biology feeling confident and went to gym. The day went by particularly fast, the only work I had to do was a couple paragraphs in AP Literature on Les Miserables. Pony thought bragging about reading Gone With the Wind was fun until I showed him the size of Les Mis. Anyways I finished PE and headed back to my locker to get my backpack and put my books away. I walked out of school and down the sidewalk till I was a fair distance away. "Hey wait up!" I realized it wasn't Two it was a female voice. "Oh god what could you possibly want, I've got a 20 page essay on a 1247 page book I don't really have the time for this crap right now." I said staring daggers at her. "No, no it's not like that I'm-I'm Cherry, I...I want to apologize." She said stopping in front of me and turning around to make sure nobody followed her. "Look I know what my Boyfriend did, and I know who you are and I just want to apologize for the fact that I was so agitated." She said looking back at me. "Look I don't know who you are, but if you're talking about Bob then get out of my sight I can't be held responsible for my actions." I said rolling my eyes and turning to leave. She rushed forward placing her hand on my shoulder to turn me around. "Please don't touch me." I said pulling my shoulder back and facing her. She pulled her hand back hesitantly, "Look I'm sorry for everything that's happened I never thought i'd have to face you in person. I really hate that we're so different for no reason other than money and I hate that I'm supposed to act like this is normal to fit in." I cocked an eyebrow confused. "What do you know about difference...You don't have to worry about walking home alone, you don't have to worry about being able to eat dinner, or being beat up just for being in YOUR neighborhood and existing in general!" I yelled at her, I felt tears stinging my eyes. She looked at me dumbfounded. "I-I..." she stuttered. I could feel a tear going down my cheek and I quickly wiped it away. She moved forward teetering for a second and then hugging me. I stepped back startled at first and looked down confused. She pulled away apologizing I could see she was on the verge of tears. "I-I never knew it was that bad, I knew it was bad but not THAT bad." she said, dabbing her eyes. "Just control your boyfriend." I said, pulling my backpack back up to my shoulder, she nodded and turned to leave. "Wait!" she called out, I turned back around. "Would you want to maybe meet a shop and talk more about this?" She said holding her stuff tighter. "I don't think there's anything to talk about Cherry, it's right in front of you in plain sight it's just up to you to open your eyes and believe it." I said throwing my hand up and pointing at the neighborhood behind me that was run down. She looked down ashamed. "Well look I never got your name, At Least let me apologize formally." she said in a huff. "Catherine." I said walking off and not turning to face her. "Well then," She huffed. "Im Sorry Catherine!" she yelled as I walked off. I just kept walking towards my neighborhood. I made it home and started on my essay. I couldn't help but feel accomplished. Steve  Walked in after a while to check on me before going to the Curtis  house. "What are you so smiley about, is someone in looove." he said dragging out the word love adding a laugh at the end. "I think I broke a Soc." I said looking up from my paper to look at him. "Like physically?" He said confused sitting on my bed. "No...But they definitely don't see us the same, I mean she hugged me crying." I said. "Well then, who was it?" He questioned. "Cherry, or Sherry I didn't really listen to her because she's dating Bob though." I rolled my eyes. "Cherry Valance! You made Cherry Valance cry and it didn't involve taking away her makeup or spilling something on her clothes!" He laughed, I responded with a nod. "High Five!" he said, shooting his hand up, "I'm going over to the Curtis  house are you coming?" He said standing up. "No, I've got an essay to finish for finals." I said pointing at my fifteenth page of writing. "I might show up later tonight, no promises." I said waving as he walked out the door. I went back to writing, "I broke Cherry Valance." I repeated to myself laughing "I broke Cherry Valance."
