Chapter Twenty Two

"Steve!" I said startled, I didn't really expect him to be here. "Hey can we talk?" he asked. "Y-yah, sure come in." I said motioning over to the bed. I sat down and he sat next to me. "Look, I'm proud of you, you got him a job." He said looking over at me. "But what about your future Catherine, You're on the right track for whatever scholarship you can dream of." He paused. "You can actually do something with your life Catherine, not be happy working at a place like the Dino." I looked up at him, he was starting to tear up. "You can be successful Catherine, you can get a good job and then you and your future family will never have to live like us." He said getting emotional. I pulled him into a hug and cradled him close. "This is what you've been so worried about?" I said, still hugging him. "I want you to have a good life Catherine, a life the rest of us can never have." I could feel myself getting emotional. "Steve  I can handle my future, but thank you for worrying about me." I said pulling away from the hug and wiping my eyes. "I just need you to be supportive of my choices." I said looking at him. He looked at me blankley for a second and nodded understandingly. He pulled me into a hug and we stood up. "Im sorry Cat." He said looking at me. I wiped a stray tear that fell down his cheek. "Steve  you have nothing to be sorry for, you're my brother I'll always forgive you." I said giving him another hug. "Now cmon lets head back over to the Curtis  house before they all leave." I said with a little laugh. He joined in with a quiet laugh and we walked out of my room and out the front door. "Race ya?" I said laughing, he smiled and started running. "Hey wait up cheater!" I said chasing after him, I caught up easily and passed him pretty fast. And ran through the gate to the Curtis  house. "Haha I win." I said catching my breath as he stopped to rest on the gate. I walked through the door to see Two standing in the corner talking to Dally. "Hey Kitten." He said leaving the conversation and walking over to me. I looked up at him and pulled him into a kiss. He seemed startled at first and pulled away slowly. I turned to look at Steve  And his gaze followed, Steve  just rolled his eyes with a smile on his face. Two laughed and spun me around in a hug. "Well it's official." Two laughed, "Catherine will you be my girl?" He questioned looking down at me. "Is that even a question!" I said jumping into his arms and giving him a kiss. "Well, congrats." Darry said from the other side of the room. I pulled away with a little laugh. Two pulled me into a side hug keeping me close to him. Steve  Walked over, "Don't make me regret this." He said looking at Two . Two shook his hand and Steve  gave me a hug. We spent the rest of the day laughing and talking some of those jokes that were projected at Two for actually getting a job. I cuddled up against him on the couch. And he wrapped his arms around me. Steve  Brought us a plate of food since we didn't plan on coming into the dining room. I didn't eat much but I was too preoccupied cuddling against Two . It was getting late and I was growing tired but I didn't see a reason to go anywhere since everybody else was planning on staying till at least midnight. I cuddled myself closer against him wrapping my arms around him and laying my head on his chest. He rubbed a hand against my back and I could feel myself growing more and more tired. His heartbeat was rhythmic and soothing and I closed my eyes relaxing my body against him. "You getting tired Kitten?" he whispered. "Mhm." I muffled quietly. "You want me to take you home?" he whispered. I shook my head back and forth to say no. He let out a quiet laugh and rubbed my back again. I Finally felt myself falling asleep against him. I finally got to be with the love of my life, even in sleep I could feel his embrace, I never want him to let go.
