A love between fire and water

Chapter 2

One week later....

Zuko's P.O.V.

"Druk, come on. You won't have to be on the ship for that long. We'll be there before you know it." I said as I tried to drag the small red dragon onto the fire nation ship. I had to go to South Pole to watch Sokka become the new chief of the tribe. But Druk hates being on ships and the ocean just like Appa hates going into tunnels and closed spaces. If only I could ride him to the South Pole, but he's only up to my waist on his back legs. I would be to heavy for him even without supplies and Izumi. Which she was wrapped up against my chest. So, I could use both my hands and still have her.

Eventually Druk got out of my hold and ran off the docks and onto the stone pathway. I groaned before I got an idea. I went on the kitchen that was in the ship and opened the door. There was the cook and a couple other crew members that were putting up food and other cooking supplies.

"Oh your highness, is everything okay?" The cook asked me.

"Yes, but can I have fish, please?"

"Yes sir, I'll cook it for you." He said before bowing. He was about to turn away before I spoke again.

"No, that's okay. It's not for me, it's for Druk." I said before he looked back at me. A lot of the servants were familiar with Druk. Though it's mostly like he's the stray cat that lives in the neighborhood then a dragon at times. Maybe when he gets fully grown, he won't be as much like a cat.

"Oh, okay." He said before opening a crate. He pulled out a fish and handed it to me.

"Thank you." I said I picked it up by the tail.

"My pleasure, sir." He said before I left the kitchen and went back to the boarding area. Everyone was already on the ship, but they were all unpacking some things.

"Druk!" I called as I held up the ship. He was still sitting on the stone pathway. He saw that I had a fish, his favorite food. I could tell he wanted it when I saw the slits of his eyes became thinner. "Come get it, buddy!" I said before he started sort trotting towards the ship on the decks. He eventually stopped on the board and got ready to jump to it. He was definitely in a haunting mood. Then he jumped but I got it out of the way. So, he landed on the floor of the ship. I could tell he would jump for it again. I luckily got him to follow me into the ship with him jumping for it multiple times. He isn't able to fly a lot just yet.

After I closed the door to the ship, I let him have it. He ate it by putting his talon on the fish and ripping the meat off of the bones with his sharp teeth. Angg would probably hate to see him eat the way he does, but he doesn't seem to mind it when people eat meat. So, he probably won't be creeped out. I just watched him eat as I leaned against the wall. Izumi made a noise before I put one arm under her butt and used my other hand to pat her back.

When Druk got done eating, he realized what I had done. So, he started to scratch at the door. I sat on the floor next to him before rubbing his back.

"It's okay, it won't be as bad as you think it'll be." I said as continued to rubbed his back. "Come here." I said as I patted my lap. Then Druk walked to me before curling up in my lap. I rubbed his back as he kinda purred in a way. I was also patting Izumi's back.

"Sir, we're ready to set sail." A crew member said as the walked up to me.

"Alright, I'll be fine here. But can you go ask someone to make a bottle for Izumi?"

"Yes, sir." They said before picking up the skeleton of the fish and walking away.
