A love between fire and water

Chapter 3

Zuko's P.O.V.

"You should have seen how happy Appa was!" Aagg said as we walked. I had my arms around Izumi even though she was wrapped to my chest. Druk went where Appa was.

"It's great that you found more sky bison." I said.

"I know, I was worried he was the last one. Maybe we can find more limers for Momo."

"Maybe. Ran and Shaw were able to have multiple baby dragons. So, maybe not all hope is lost for the dragons. Druk is still very attached to me."

"That's good. That means he trusts you."

"Yeah, I guess." I said before we walked into an ice hut. There was Katara, Hakoda, and Toph. Hakoda noticed us walk in before they stopped their conversation. It had been a little while since I last saw Hakoda, his brown hair was now an almost dark grey and he had more wrinkles. He stood up from his seat before walking over to me.

"Nice to see you again, fire lord Zuko." He said as he bowed his head.

"You too, chief Hakoda." I said as I put a fist on my other opened hand and bowed my head to him. Then we stood back up.

"Is the fire nation doing any better?"

"You could say that. There's still some small things I have to fix that were made during the war."

"That's good." He said before Izumi made a noise. "What was that?"

"Her." I said before moving my coat to reveal Izumi.

"Oh, well hi." He said as he let her hold his finger. "When did you have her?"

"A few mouths ago."

"We can give you warmer clothes for her, so you don't have to carry her under your coat."

"We're fine for now."

"Alright, you can tell one of us and we'll give you clothes for her."

"Thank you."

"Well, you might want to come sit with us until Sokka comes back." Hakoda said before he sat back in his seat.

"Sokka isn't here yet?" I asked as I sat down.

"No, he's not. He went to go get Suki and the earth king, but they got stuck somewhere for a little bit. Besides he becomes chief tomorrow." Katara said as Aang sat next to her.

"I know, but it's probably bad for him to be late to something so important. I mean I wasn't late to me becoming the new fire lord." I responded.

"We know. Sokka has been waiting for this forever. So, he would want his all friends to watch it happen. As well as we're starting the tradition that all or most world leaders are there to watch the coronation of the new leader."

"That's the only reason I'm here. My feet get to cold, so then I have to cover them up. But then I can't see. I thought I hated the dessert before I had to come here." Toph said.

"You know we'll help you get around." Katara responded.

"I know, but it still sucks."
