Chapter 36

Save Me

It's already afternoon when I woke up yet the sun seems so shy to shine its light, covered by those dark clouds. Medyo masakit pa ang ulo ko ng sinubukan kong bumangon at doon ay unti-unti kong naalala ang mga nangyari. The coldness and how my body numb like death taking me away.

"Goodmorning," I was greeted by a low and manly voice.

Eres is sitting on the sofa, reading a newspaper with his cup of coffee hotly sitting on the table. The aroma of the coffee is making me hungry. Itinupi nito ang dyaryong kaniyang binabasa saka tumayo at lumapit sa akin.

"I'm hungry," muttered as he sat infront of me.

He smiled and chuckled as he put his pulm, cupping my cheeks. I look at his dominant and captivating eyes. The authority oozing out from him is too much that his people are following him, with respect.

"Gezeth," he called my name softly and smile a bit, I answered it with a 'hmm' asking what does he want but I am stunned when he look at me with the same admiration I am looking at him, remember my promise?"

"To protect me," I answered.

Tumango lamang ito at mas lumawak ang ngiti niya. Hindi ko namamalayan, bigla biglang lumabas mula sa aking mga mata ang butyl ng mga luha. Maski ata si eres ay nabigla dahil doon habang nakatingin lamang ako sa kaniya. Saka ko lamang naramdaman ang mga luhang iyon ng maramdaman ko ang pagpatak ng mga ito sa likod ng aking kamay.

Binitawan nito ang pagkakawak sa aking pisngi at napatuwid ng upo. Habang ako ay wala sa sariling kinapa at dinama ang mga luha. Nagtataka sa sarili kung bakit bigla akong umiiyak... no, may be I really know the reason why but I am just scared.

"Gez..."

"I'm scared," cutting him off when he was about to call my name, "I'm scared to lose you."

Mapait akong napangiti habang tinititigan ang kaniyang mga mata. Lumambot rin ang ekspresiyon ng kaniyang mukha.

I closed my eyes when his lips me mine, assuring me that everything will be fine. I poured my emotion and fear to that kiss and Eres is wiping every worries and fear that I have.

Mabilis man ang tibok ng aking puso, ramdam ko naman ang unti-unting pagkalma ng sarili ko ng yakapin niya ako matapos ang halik. Eres is the only one who can comfort me like this. I trust that he will save me no matter what.

Wala itong sinabi o naging komento kundi tanging ngiti. His smile literally wiped every doubts I have. I won't ever kill Eres.

Mahirap humanap ng taong kaya kang tanggapin ng buo, pero mas mahirap ang manatili sa piling ng taong alam mong masasaktan mo rin sa huli. I am scared of what will happen.

Nang mapakalma ko na ang sarili ko ay sabay kaming bumaba ni Eres at kumain ng aming umagahan. The weather is pleasant, like a calm weather before a storm.

Nang maghapon ay tahimik ang buong bahay dahil wala ang mga tao dito ngayon. Aside from the househelps, Eres together with my protectors and his men, including Lara and the gang, went to on their patrol on three areas. Eres was stubborn and keep on insisting to stay with me but I forced him to go.

Carrier are unusually uncontrollable and stronger like never before. More of them are also appearing at night and of course stronger, so Eres need to seize the opportunity at day time when they aren't that strong.

Nakatayo lamang ako sa balkonahe, nakatingin sa kawalan. Pinipilit na hindi isipin ang mga nangyari sa akin. Eres never tried to talk to me about it but he only assured me that everything will be fine.
