'oh no, it's him' was one of the things mattia picked up as people whispered about him in the hallway. they didn't care if he heard, and mattia didn't care about their opinion. mattia strided into class, sitting at his desk immediately.
everyone watched the boy, giving glances and continued whispering. but someone in particular made mattia look up from his book. it was a pink haired girl, she was fairly pretty and was holding an intense glare at the boy.
mattia just huffed, looking back into his book before he heard a familiar voice, 'goodmorning everyone!' kairi waved which caught everyone's attention. but the boy didn't mind the attention until the pink haired girl looked at him.
'kairi! what the fuck?' genesis yelled but only loud enough for kairi to hear. kairi furrowed his brows in confusion, 'what happened?' kairi asked as he walked over to his seat next to genesis.
'what's up with you and mystery boy? is he trying to be your best friend? well tell him to stop because i'm not being replaced with his mushroom hea-,' genesis ranted before kairi sighed.
'it's not like that... he's my new friend' kairi dismissed, grabbing his binder from his backpack. he put the blue binder on the desk and started doodling on a black piece of loose leaf while he waited for the teacher to come into class.
mattia was still reading until someone walked over to him. 'hey, you and cosentino like...idk' the boy said as he sat in the seat in front of mattia. he looked at mattia with a small smile, two dimples piercing his cheeks.
'people are talking about you guys, they said they saw you guys at that new cafe yesterday' the tan boy finished while still looking at mattia, mattia didn't look up from his book.
'no, we're not a thing. we just bumped into each other.' mattia replied with no real emotion in his voice. the other boy nodded, pulling out a some gum. he gestured to mattia to take some but mattia simply refused.
the other boy shrugged, taking out his own piece and putting it in his mouth. 'my name's alejandro... i think we have calculus together also' the boy introduced himself.
'mattia. and no, we don't' mattia answered making alejandro chuckle. 'alright, i'll see you around man' alejandro trilled, getting up from the seat and walking over to his other friends.
'i think if he's nice to kairi, then we should accept him' the same boy from the mcdonald's argued with genesis which made her roll her eyes.
'alvaro be quiet, i don't want him to steal my best friend. and kairi do you even know if he's like gay?' genesis queried making kairi look over at the boy across the class. he's recently come to terms with his crush on the latter and can't stop daydreaming about him.
'hmm maybe.' kairi smiled, the thought of mattia being gay made kairi happy. that would mean he had a chance with the boy.
'well there are other guys you could get. like... other than him. you're out of his league anyways. maybe try josh?' their friend hannah says bluntly causing kai to look at her. she had jealousy written all over her face and before kairi could retaliate, genesis did.
'shut the fuck up hannah, no one asked. stop being jealous, it doesn't look good on you' genesis sneered with a sarcastic smile on her face. hannah rolled her eyes and just looked away from the trio.
'kai-,' genesis started before she was cut off by someone. 'good morning kai' the boy leered, making kairi already uncomfortable with his presence. 'go away hunter' kairi huffed looking brunette.
hunter sighed as he placed his hands on the desk, as a way to taunt kairi. 'i found you a cd by that band you always talked about' hunter cooed as he absorbed the smaller features.
'okay... we're not together anymore, so i don't want it' kairi grumbled wanting hunter to go away. and that happened when the late bell rung throughout the class room making students scramble to their seats.
'hmm alright. see ya kai' hunter teased walking away towards his friends causing kairi to grunt. 'i wanna kick him in the dick' genesis commented making kairi laugh.
kairi looked back at mattia one last time, seeing that the boy who was still reading, he was very unbothered by the class rumors. kairi wish he could say he wasn't bothered either. his friends pressured him into liking someone else so that they can still be popular, also there are now rumors of him and mattia being with each other.
kairi sighed once more before looking up at the teacher who was starting the lesson.
