the two walked into the hotel lobby, mattia holding multiple bags from kairi's shopping spree as kairi skipped towards the hotel desk. 'um i called and reserved the room for two' kairi politely said as she typed on her computer looking for the reservation.
'oh, there seems to be a mistake dear. it says hear you asked for a king suite, so it only comes with one bed... i can see if we have another empty one for you though?' the young woman asked kairi, who shook his head no. 'no it's okay, one bed would be fine' kairi sighed as the woman handed him the keycard.
'once again i'm sorry for the inconvenience sir. i'll give you a discount next time if you'd like?' the lady offered but kairi declined. 'i don't think ill be coming back' he laughed then realized that sounded a little sinister. the lady furrowed her thin eyebrows before kairi just waved goodbye.
he made his way over to mattia, 'so mattia they messed up and gave us a room with only one bed. bruh' kairi groaned as mattia just smiled. 'it's okay i can take the couch.. or the floor'. kairi just nodded as the two walked towards their room.
kairi ran inside immediately spinning around, then looking back at mattia who just dropped all the bags he was carrying out of exhaustion. mattia's phone vibrated multiple times before he picked it up, 'hello?' mattia answered as you could hear a woman yelling on the other end.
'mhm...okay i will. love you too.' mattia finished, hanging up the phone up. 'my mom wants us to be careful because that killer striked again. she said that he might flee the town or continue killing so she wants us to stay in' he told kairi who had already taken off his shoes, and started jumping on the bed.
'ooooo i heard about that too. it's so dangerous out' he stated, still jumping around the bed. 'yeah i know' mattia said while taking off his shoes too. he walked over to the small boy, and grabbed his ankles causing kairi to fall onto the bed. 'stop jumping, who's taking a shower first?' mattia asked as kairi started giggling.
'mattia, that scared me! and me, i wanna go first' kairi hopped off the bed and walked over to his bag. 'no peeking though' kairi laughed as he stood up from the floor with his clothes in his hands. mattia nodded as he walked over to the couch, looking at his phone.
kairi closed the bathroom door, stripped off his clothes then turned on the shower water. mattia heard the water but kept playing on his phone. he kept thinking about what kairi said at the store. he didn't know if should be taking kairi serious or not.
his thoughts were interrupted as he heard kairi calling him from in the bathroom. 'mattia! look in my bag and hand me my face scrub!' kairi yelled as he finished cleaning himself.
'okay!' mattia yelled back, getting up from the couch and squatting down to the boy's bag. he opened the zipper and his eyes widened. kairi had a large ziplock bag with a bunch of pills, needles, and liquid medication. mattia got scared a bit as he realized that the small boy had to use all these things to help his pancreas disease.
mattia hesitantly moved the bag, and saw the face scrub sitting right there. he grabbed it from the bag, zipped it closed, then walked towards the bathroom. he opened the door slowly and saw kairi's hand waiting for him to give it to him.
he placed the container in his hand then quickly closed the door. he ran his hand through his hair as a way to cope, then walked back over to the couch. his phone had two new notifications so he opened them as he waited for kairi:
