mattia groggily walked towards the brick library that he saw everyday. the feeling of tiredness haunted him due to the fact he cried himself to sleep last night. he pushed the glass door open and entered the quiet building.
surprisingly no one was there, except kairi. but that was understandable, it was really rainy out so no one wanted to be out in this weather. kairi was too busy spinning in his chair to even notice mattia. he let out little laughs as mattia made his way over to the chair next to kairi.
he placed his bag down before he sat down, kairi immediately stopped spinning and smiled at his boyfriend. mattia weakly smiled back, 'why were you so late? i was in here alone and i put back all the books by myself, even the returned ones' kairi exclaimed as he examined mattia.
there was something visibly off about the other, he had purple tinted bags under his eyes and he was back to his colder aura. 'sorry. i was up late last night' mattia answered. kairi made a scrunched up facial expression, not believing mattia's answer but he didn't want to pry.
'hmm, okay. well we can leave early today because the work is done, but we can't go outside with this kind of weather... we should go to my house' kairi proposed while watching mattia doodled on the library check out list.
mattia stopped his actions, what genesis said started playing in his head. she said that mattia should stop hanging with kairi while he can? what does that even mean? 'hellooooo?' kairi called, mattia snapped out of his thoughts paying attention back to kairi.
'cmon matti, we can go to my house and plus no one is home' kairi added while he looked at mattia with his mesmerizing puppy dog eyes. 'no kai, i don't think i can' mattia sighed. he didn't like lying to kairi but something in his gut was telling him not to go to kairi's house.
'don't be like that matti, please? i have to show you something when we get there' kairi said trying to get mattia to look at him. mattia just had his head down the whole time, 'y'know how i don't like reading? but there's one book i've liked ever since i was a kid. you want to know the name?' kairi softly stated making mattia look up from the boy's change of tone.
'yeah tell me' mattia replied just as softly as kairi spoke, that made kairi smile. 'a person's favorite book says a lot about them, which one?' mattia smiled as he watched kairi get excited. 'the little prince! do you know that one!' kairi excitedly said.
mattia chuckled, 'saint-exupéry?' his reply made kairi's face fall. 'you know it?' he asked in a saddened tone which made mattia laugh more. 'and here i was excited since i thought you wouldn't know the foreign book. all that for nothing' kairi pouted.
'the fact that you don't think the Little Prince is famous, shows how uninterested you are in books' mattia giggled as kairi played with his fingers. 'bebe, that book is very famous, and sold worldwide.' mattia finished. 'i see... so you've read it?' kairi questioned, not looking up from his fingers.
'..no i haven't yet' mattia admitted causing kairi to gasp from happiness. 'really?! in that case i'll let you borrow it! let's go to my house matti!' kairi jumped up from his seat and started gathering his things. 'it's really good, i want to hear your opinion on it' kairi continued while mattia watched him from his chair.
'come on!' kairi whined which mattia huffed in response. he put his pen down and grabbed his bag. he followed kairi out of the library, locked the door then called eric to come get them. kairi was so excited, while mattia was looking for any signs of genesis.
when eric pulled up in front of the boys, he immediately jumped out of the car, stumbling a bit because of the wet mud from the rain. he covered them with an umbrella making kairi furrow his brows.
'why is your dad doing that?' kairi asked quietly, mattia laughed a bit. 'he's not my dad, this is my driver. his name is eric' mattia introduced making kairi's eyes go wide.
eric opened the door for the two and they got in, 'mattia... why do you have a driver?!' kairi asked a bit frantically as he moved closer to mattia, practically in the boy's lap.
'my parents are rich..' mattia muttered while he watched kairi look around the car in fear. 'why are you scared?' mattia asked with a tone of amusement. kairi hit him the chest while laughing, 'i thought you were.. like in the mafia' kairi admitted whispering the last part.
mattia looked at his boyfriend in confusion before shaking his head, 'what? kairi no, i'm not in the mafia..' kairi laughed at mattia's statement as eric started driving. the ride was quiet, but not uncomfortably quiet.
the two were just enjoying each other's company. it soothed mattia, and kairi was always appreciative of mattia's presences. the two really do love each other.
