Draco Malfoy
"Have you gotten her to tell you anything?"
"Not yet."
"Tell me Youve at least made progress?"
"She thinks we're together."
"Good. I'm sorry Draco. It must be awful. But it's important." Father said and I nodded while looking at the floor. "Don't tell me you have feelings for the girl?"
"No. She's just as bad as you said she would be."
It was partially true. Kit was rude and fiery and stubborn. And she didn't let anyone get close to her. She walked away from any bit of trouble she was in instead of dealing with it and she stands up for Potter.
But now I was realising that she could be vulnerable, and really I knew she didn't like walking away from arguments, it was just to protect herself. And she really was a beautiful girl. At times when we were together I forgot that I wasn't actually meant to be liking her. But when she held my hand and when she kissed me, it was hard to tell myself not to like her. Actually, it was impossible not to like her.
I walked into the great hall for our first of these stupid dance classes. I put myself in a chair next to Blaise and the other boys and scoured the girls section try and find Kit.
"She's not there." Blaise whispered.
"What do you mean she's not there? Where is she then?" I whispered back.
Blaise shrugged and I racked my brain thinking of where she could be, or if I had seen her at all today. But the more I thought about it, the more I knew that I hadn't seen her.
It was infuriating because it meant that I had to pair up with another girl I didn't know who wasn't happy at all.
But just as the music started to play, Kit walked in with one of the Weasley twins, who had a busted lip.
What trouble had she gotten herself in to?
"Nice of you two to join us." Mcgonagall said.
"I was talking to professor Snape." Kit sighed.
"And I was getting fixed in the hospital wing." The twin said, shooting a side glare at Kit.
"Well, everyone else is paired up so, you two will have to stay together."
I watched as Kit slung down her bag and her robes and cursed several times.
I frowned as I tried to get her attention but she turned her back to me and faced Weasley.
I huffed snd turned to face the girl that had a sour look on her face.
"Would you at least try and be civil?" I scoffed.
"With you? No. And stop making eyes at that poor girl she doesn't deserve it." She smirked and I rolled my eyes.
"Stay out of my business."
The girl was quiet after that except for when I didn't pay attention and stood on her feet. But I couldn't stop trying to find Kit and Weasley in the crowd of people. And when I did, I couldn't look away from them.
They didn't seem to be fighting, and I swear I saw them laughing together. I hadn't actually seen Kit laugh before.
"Are you jealous of him or something?"
"No. Of course not." I spat at the ravenclaw girl.
"Then why do you look so angry? Who is she to you?" She asked.
"Look. She means nothing to me." I said, only to find that Kit was closer than I thought and evidently heard me.
Of course, now was the time when I got her attention. She gave me a blank look before turning back to the twin, interlocking her hand with his.
It couldn't get any worse.
I had just built up a good starting point with her and one second had blown it all away.
This task was driving me close to insanity.
