Lie To Me

Part 4

Draco Malfoy
She was an idiot. Standing up for Potter and sitting with him. It disgusted me. If her parents knew, she'd be six feet under. Perhaps her parents would find out. That would be how I got her back.

"Don't say anything Malfoy I can't be bothered with your insufferable drivel today." She sighed as I started to walk by her side.
I grabbed her arm and yanked her back to face me.
"Don't you dare speak to me like that. No one gets to speak to me like that. Especially not you." I said and felt my grip tighten on her arm without meaning to.
"We're equals. You have no power over me and you don't scare me for a second." She said, her face horribly close to mine.
"Well-"
"Mr Malfoy, what do you think you're doing?" Snape.
"But she-"
"Run along Katerina I'm sure you have something to be doing." He snapped.
"Don't call-"
"Go!" He said harshly before King finally huffed and walked away. "You. Come with me."

We walked to the edges of the school ground and it was making me nervous as to why I had to be out here with him. There was no reason I could think of. If it were something important, Father would have written and told me.
"How come you're so close to King anyways?" I asked, not being able to hold the question in.
"I'm not close to her Mr Malfoy, as you very well know I am a family friend, just like I am to you. I have been asked to look out for her."
"But why?"
"Enough." He ordered and as I looked back forward and saw my Father  I knew a frown had appeared on my face.

Why was he here?
He could have just written to me.
But for him to come to Hogwarts it would have to be something serious he needed to talk to me about. As we approached him I tried to go through everything I had done since I last saw him and any news that he could be bringing. But nothing seemed important enough for him to be here.

"I don't have much time here Draco but I need you to listen to me." He said and I immediately nodded, getting the feeling something was wrong.
"Ok"
"I need you to do something for me."
"Yes father."
"Katerina King has started at Hogwarts, I'm sure you know that. And her parents are Kate and Gerard King. Now, Kate and Gerard have taken our place as the Dark Lords most trusted which puts us in an unfavourable position. What I need you to do, is find out any information you can from Katerina that we can use against the Kings and regain our rightful position." He explained and I could barely find the words to say.
"How am I supposed to do that? We're sworn enemies and have been since-"
"That doesn't matter now. You gain her trust, so that she tells you everything Draco. Be in a relationship with her if you have to. Just get that information." He said and I almost threw up right there infront of him.
"I'm not being her boyfriend."
"Do you not hear how important this is?! I'm saying no more. Get that information, or be the cause of the Malfoy downfall." He said before suddenly disappearing.
"Stop being selfish. This is for your family." Snape said before he too left.

I was in a state of shock. I had only been in school no more than a week and already I had some big task to fulfil. A task that was beyond my worst nightmare. It was impossible. Absolutely impossible. If he had warned me of our situation before I had gotten here I would have been nicer to her. But now I had to swallow my pride and actually apologise and be kind to her. A girl I so evidently despised. She would never believe it. It would be too much of a sudden change she would know that theres as something going on.
But I had to do this for my family. I knew that mother would be scared right now and I had to do this for her.
