The morning started off fine.
I woke up and had breakfast early on my own and it was nice just to have time for myself.
The trouble started when I was walking to the great hall for my stupid dance class.
I was minding my own business, daydreaming about seeing Draco actually have to dance.
But then the accident happened.

Halfway to the great hall, I heard a pair of footsteps behind me which I ignored. But as they started speeding up I started to get nervous.
I was reaching for my wand in my pocket when an extremely loud horn blared right next to my ear.
Out of reflex, I pulled back my fist and punched the source as I spun on my heel.
My hand connected with someone's face and I immediately covered my mouth with my hands.
"What the hell?!"
As the person stood up I uncovered my mouth and glared at the person.
"What were you thinking?!" I yelled and the lanky redhead held his lip in his hand.
"You hit me!"
"Well you scared me half to death!"
He looked up at me and frowned.
"Ah, you're not who I thought you were." He said and his cheeks became pink.
"No shit! Who are you?"
"Fred Weasley. And you, you are not Hermione Granger." He said and I couldn't help but frown.
"Oh come on we do not have the same hair. Mines darker by a mile! I'm Kit." I said and he stuck out his hand which I didn't take.
"What's going on?!"

I cringed as I turned to see Severus gliding down the hallway, his robes trailing behind him. He did not look happy.
"Misunderstanding. I punched him, he scared me." I explained and immediately he sent me a look of warning.
"What did I tell you about that damn temper? Anyways, Katerina, accompany Mr Weasley to the hospital wing then get to your classes. Now!" He ordered and I rolled my eyes before following the lanky boy to the hospital.

After he was seen to and after his lip had stopped bleeding we headed down to the hall.
"It's your own fault." I stropped.
"I'm just glad we didn't get a detention with him." Fred shivered and I smiled.
"He's not so bad. You just have to know him. He's been a friend of my families for years." I said and he nodded.
"Which explains why he calls you Katerina and not by your last name." He said and I nodded. "You do realise we're going to get a bollocking for being late."
I groaned but walked into the hall anyways.
Immediately my eyes searched for Draco.
When I found him already paired with some girl I immediately looked away and didn't bother looking back at them.
"I guess we're partners." Fred sighed and I inwardly groaned. "I'm not that bad."
His hand took mine and I had to actively stop myself from pulling it away, realising that I had to be close to him.
But I did cringe when his hand went to my waist and I meant I did have to get closer.
"Ever done this?" He asked and I shook my head no.
"Brilliant. Me neither." He laughed and I just rolled my eyes.

After a while I realised that it was rather funny being paired with someone who was just as terrible as me at dancing. It was even better as he was so much taller than I was.
"That's four times in the last ten minutes that you've stood on my toes." Fred smiled.
"Well keep your freakishly long feet in line." I said and immediately looked up at him realising what I had said.
He couldn't hold in the laugh and a laugh creeped out of me as well. It was the first time I could remember that I had laughed while being here.
"Everyone says you're so scary but I don't think you're too bad." He said and I rolled my eyes.
"Well I've never heard of you. But, you're not bad either." I sighed.

I made sure that as we moved we got closer to Draco. But as we did, I wish we hadn't.
"She means nothing to me." He said. The only way I knew he was talking about me was the fact that he looked at me straight after he had said it and his face turned pale.
I stared at him blankly, before turning back to Fred and taking up the close proximity position.
"Something rattled your feathers?" He asked and I shook my head.
Surely I meant something to Draco now. Surely. After the time we shared in the woods surely we had past the whole enemies ordeal. Surely he couldn't have faked those feelings for me.
But as I felt the sadness wash over me I remembered what he said as we were leaving. He wanted to keep it secret. I smiled to myself as I knew he was just putting on a front so people didn't find out. I bit my lip and put my focus back on Fred.

After another half an hour of learning how to dance, the class was finally over and we could leave.
"Silly this whole dance thing isn't it?" Fred asked and I nodded my head immediately.
"Extremely. I can't dance and I hate Valentine's Day." I said and he shook his head.
"Well you're a ray of sunshine."
I smiled at his comment and he cleared his throat as we picked up our bags.
"So, who are you going with?" He asked and I shrugged.
"No one. As of yet." I sighed and he nodded. "Why?"
"Just something to think about." Fred smiled before walking away from me, leaving me confused as to what he meant.
