This chapter continues to remember our medical staff. Thank you for dedicating not just your time but your life in this field. In line with the Suicide Prevention Month, this chapter also remembers everyone who is suffering from pain, anxiety or loneliness. If you feel like the world is against you and if you feel that you're alone in your battle, know that someone, even just one still cares for you. There is always someone who can listen to your cries. And if you feel like giving up and you feel that everyone around you is not helping, there is a Higher Being that can listen to us. Talk to Him and cast all your cares upon Him. We'll get through this. You are not alone. Keep going;

Pressure

Maxene's surgery on the abdomen is not that easy at all and when she became stable, we immediately proceeded for the MRI. My heart sank when we saw a sign of swelling in her brain.

"We can't just operate." Isaiah said while looking at the monitor.

Gian is just looking at Maxene while she's being carried carefully back to the gurney.

Tito Augustus is here with us. Isaiah is our best neurosurgeon trainee here in Laurant. Malapit na rin itong magtake ng board residency, but Tito Augustus did not become the chief surgery for no reason. We needed him and he wants to be here. For Maxene.

"We need to see if the swelling is fast progressing before we can fully operate. We just can't risk it especially that she's not really that stable." Dugtong ni Tito Augustus. Tumango tango kami sa kanyang sinabi.

"What about the bleeding?" Bahagyang lingon ni Gian sa amin.

"We can control the bleeding....for now."

"Maxene worked non-stop. She had back to back surgery and she's really tired. Ganyan talaga 'yan, eh. Sobrang sipag.

Last time that we're together, she's laughing her ass off because of Janin's crazy stories.

She laughs as if she's not tired. I realized one thing, that we doctors spend little time with the patients. We diagnose them, we treat them, and then we're good. But the nurses...they spend more time with the patients.

Checking their stats from time to time, making sure they are okay. Taking care of them, changing their clothes, deal with the patient's angers. And by the time the patient's all good, the credit goes to the doctors...alone.

They are not our patients....It's theirs.

Abraham presumed that she hit her head so hard during the car accident. The soft tissues of her brain may be had an impact on her skull that's why she's having internal bleeding and brain swelling. The bleeding progressed aggressively so we need to stop it.

I promised Gian that I will do whatever it takes to save her, kaya kahit ramdam na ramdam ko na ang pagod at sakit ng katawan, I will endure, because there are countless times that Maxene endured long surgeries like this.
