Brother

I spent two weeks at the hospital.

Mama wanted to make sure that I was really okay before allowing me to discharge. The news good confirmed that Rufus Salvador was announced dead on arrival.

I am now watching an ambush interview a day after I got stabbed.

"Vice President Cortez, Dra. Cortez, is it true that the Salvador did this to your daughter?"

Oh my god.

I saw how my father's expression changed pero nagpatuloy pa rin sila sa paglalakad.

"Sir, we heard rumors that you're blaming de Alvarez Family because of this.

I stopped watching the video then sighed heavily. Days before I got discharged the President and his wife paid a visit to check how I'm doing.

CJ was extra quiet those days and I can see that somehow she got traumatized. I was stabbed in front of her that's why I always check on her.

Tumayo ako at nagpunta sa bathroom para maligo. I know how to properly clean and dress my wound. We did this a thousand times on our practical exams and internship. I just did not expect that I will do it to myself.

I remember how I almost died back at the hospital. I thought I was just hallucinating when Dr. Bonifacio announced that I was about to code but Dr. Guzman confirmed it when I regain consciousness. I was bleeding out so badly.

The mortality rates of a stab wound to the abdomen is low and just the same as having a gunshot wound. So, yeah, maybe that night, luck was on my side.

The stab wound is about four to five inches long so as the wound from the surgery.

The cut started below my navel down to my lower abdomen.

They found out that I was having an internal bleeding when I was going through hypovolemic shock so they need to open me up to check if there are damaged organs. Dr. Guzman told me that I got so lucky that my intestines were not damaged so as my liver and spleen.

I smiled at her as she stood up so she can help me sit in the bed.
