It has been two days since Naruto and Hinata had arrived in Konoha. Until now everything had been quiet, they had just been training on one of the fields, while waiting for the chunin exams to start. Since there was only one day until these exams the pair had decided to take the day off. Walking around the village, Naruto's arm around Hinata's shoulder, they noticed a loud crash in a street close to them. Shrugging their shoulder, the two turned and leisurely walked towards the source of the commotion.

As they rounded the corner they saw a black clothed boy holding up a younger child. "That will teach him to run into people." The headband the boy was wearing identified him as a shinobi from Sunagakure. Hinata knew who he was but she could see, that Naruto had no idea who the boy in front of him was. Before she could say something a new voice cut her off.

"I would put that boy down, he is the honorable grandson of the Hokage." The boy that had said that, was a little shorter than Hinata and had dark brown hair. The most unusual thing about him was the dog that was sitting on top of his head, this identified her as a member of the Inuzuka clan. After a bit of thinking she remembered that she had met an Inuzuka boy before they had left, whose name was Kiba, if she recalled correctly.

"Kankuro, stop this, we don't want to cause a scene." The girl next to the suna shinobi said. Hinata chuckled as she saw Naruto's face lighten up at the mention of the boys name.

Kankuro and his sister argued back and forth, before a small pebble hit Kankuro's hand, causing him to drop the smaller boy, who ran to Kiba and hid behind him.

Naruto and Hinata had already seen Sasuke stand on the tree branch, so they weren't as surprised as the others, who turned their heads and looked at the last Uchiha with wide eyes.

"I think Gaara will be happy to see us again." Naruto whispered to his girlfriend, while Sasuke tried to lecture the two suna shinobi about the boundaries of the villages. The pink haired girl that had come with Kiba suddenly realised that these shinobi in front of them were from another village.

Temari and Kankuro mentally facepalmed and tried to explain to her, what the chunin exams are, before they were again disturbed by their brother, who commanded his sand to gently close the mouths of his siblings.

Looking towards the tree that Sasuke had stood on, Gaara was seen standing upside down on a different branch than the Uchiha. He shook his head with a small smile, after which he disappeared in a cloud of sand, reappearing next to his teammate. "This is not going to do anything. We have better things to do, than to waste our time with these genin." The redhead said, before turning towards Naruto and Hinata, smiling. "Hello Naruto, Hinata, care to join us for lunch?" He asked, making his siblings turn their heads to the wall, the two were leaning on. Once they realised who these two shinobi were, they smiled and waved at them. The Konoha shinobi looked confused between the five foreign ninja, trying to make sense of how these teens knew each other.

"Yeah sure, we don't have anything else to do." Naruto answered Gaara's question. Leaving with the shinobi from Sunagakure, Naruto and Hinata could barely suppress a laugh at the still confused teens they left behind.

"So how have you been this past year?" Temari asked, as they waited for their food.

"We've been alright. We joined Iwa a few weeks ago. We are here to show our Kage that we are better than just chunin, since he wants to see us in action before he will promote us to jonin." Hinata told the three suna shinobi.

"How about you guys? Has Shukaku been better?" Naruto asked. Gaara wanted to answer but the waiter interrupted him, by bringing their food.

"He has been way quieter, since you took a look at my seal. Thanks again for that." The jinchuriki said.

"Yeah, Rasa was happy to see that Gaara and Shukaku finally were not in a constant struggle for power." Kankuro said.

"Speaking of Rasa, did you know, Orochimaru tried to kill him to get Suna to help him with an attack on Konoha?" Temari told Hinata and Naruto, who were shocked to hear that Orochimaru wanted to kill the father of their friends.

"How is he, I hope he wasn't hurt." Hinata asked.

"He is alright now, he fought with Orochimaru, but when Gaara and I showed up and Gaara started to transform into Shukaku, he fled." Kankuro said, while Temari smiled. "You always make it sound so easy. Rasa was in the hospital for two weeks and you almost lost crow. The fight was horrible, I only arrived after the sannin had already left. But the street was completely devastated."

"Well, if everyone is alright now, then you can count yourself lucky." Hinata said smiling sympathetically at the siblings.

"I hope you already told the Hokage about that?" Naruto asked, earning three nods.

"Well anyways, we don't have to worry about that anymore, let's talk about something more fun." Hinata said, trying to shift the focus.
