Chapter 16: Leaving again

Hiccup's POV

I spent the night trying to sort my emotions for Astrid. I liked Astrid but she wouldn't like me back so I should just give up and stop, but I can't. I thought about last night, and the flight on toothless. I also felt that she was happy when she saw me with my Hobblegrunt ability. Does she like me? I mean, I took her away from her friends and family here at Berk and would like to give her the option to return to her home but at the same time, want her to stay together with me. Uhh! This was giving me a headache, I don't think she will be the same here or be happy here ever again, I mean she was an offering for me, me of all people,a goddess like her to a idiot like me.  Maybe, i do like her and it will remain that way forever and I should just embrace it, but learn how to hide my feelings unlike Snotlout. Maybe, if I be with her long enough, she will like me too, but she has never seen my face. With that, I shut my eyes and went to sleep.

Time skip( about a few weeks)

I woke up to the sounds of screaming, Oh No ! Was the village under attack, I put on my mask and clothes and rushed to the village. Strange, there seem to be no fire, only screaming, I went to the source of the sounf to find adults around the house. " What happened? Why is everyone here?" I asked.

" And why should I tell you?" A person shot back.

" Because, I can try to help," I replied.

" Every night, she has one of her night terrors about how that weakling Hiccup died, she regrets everything she did to that boy, why? I don't know, but her night terrors wake everybody up early in the morning. Her screams can be heard from a mile away man, everybody hates it," the man replied.

" Thanks," I replied as I shoved everyone aside and knocked on the door. Astrid's uncle opened the door, looking very tired and asked me what did I want.

" I think I may have something that  can help her sleep," I replied.

" Okay, but everybody has tried and if you try anything inappropriate like that idiot Snotlout, be warned, she may punch your face and then I will kill you, you understand?" her uncle warned.

" Okay, I won't harm her or do anything bad to her," I replied.

" Then, go and watch out for her punches and kicks," the uncle said before letting me inside. I ran up to her room and opened her door, to see her screaming and punching and kicking.

"Astrid wake up, Astrid wake up, what's wrong, it's only a dream," I coaxed.

" Hiccup?" she croaked as she woke up. Oh no! Did she find out who I used to be!

"No! Actually, it's just me, H" I said. I walked over to her and put my arm around her ( She was sitting up now, I repeat, we were not sleeping together)

" Sorry if I bothered you H, it is just that I regret everything I did to that boy Hiccup, I caused him to die," she replied as she leaned on my neck. Oh my gosh! Was this counted inappropriate, I was going to be killed by her uncle man! And also, where are all the Berkians going to sleep, I am going to need to tell Toothless to go get the building started. Or set up a camp for them or something, maybe, we could get them to live in one of the Sandbuster's burrows. That will take a lot of coaxing though, they are stubborn. 

" Come on, we need to get ready to go back to dragons edge," I said and got up, extending my hand to her to help her up. 

Toothless! i called in dragonese when we were outside and everybody looked at me strangely. Toothless came flying in and said, Yes, my prince!

Stop calling me that! I commanded in dragonese.

He gave me a gummy smile and said yes, my prince.
