Damien POV (Damiens wolf)

Me and my family have been looking for that pesky hybrid for years now. We were so close in Beijing but missed her. It frustrates me because whenever we seem to get close to her, so immediately leaves the country and goes somewhere.

The vampire council has given up on finding her since she's always on the run. Never in one place to long. It's frustrating but at least I have my beta and warriors with me. They know how to make a boring thing like this be fun.

"Damien, are you listening?" My beta, Ryker tapped my shoulder.

"What? Sorry." I shook my head. "What's going on?" I looked at the headteacher of the school. We were in a small town in England. I figured we could look here.

It's practically a ghost town and not much happens. It would be a great place for the hybrid and her father to come here. I know they have vampire allies that tell them where I'm going next to I pretended i was going to Tokyo when actually I was coming here.

Just then I got the sweetest, mouthwatering scent I've ever smelled. A forest after a rainy day, lavender and fresh cut wood.

Mate. My wolf, Tobias howled in the back of my head. My heartbeat went up and I just wanted to leave this damn room and find her. I could tell she is female from the gender scent she gives off. Humans give off scents so we know what gender they are.

After a couple of minutes, the bell rang and the headteacher took me, Ryker and my warriors to a classroom. Just then I got a scent of vampire, not one but two and a werewolf: Maybe there's a vampire and their child here. But also a wolf which is rogue but surely they won't bother to come at me and the boys.

"Can you smell that?"  Ryker mind linked me.

"Vampires. It's ok though, we don't want them just the hybrid." I told him.

When we got the the classroom, my mates scent got stronger and it made Tobias jumpy in a good way. We've been waiting years to find our mate and just wanted her with us.

When we went in, my eyes immediately went straight to the back of the classroom. Sat there looking out of the window was a small girl. She has long light brown hair and fair skin. Then she looked at me, her beautiful face made me instantly want her, to mate and mark her and claim her as mine. Her bright blue eyes bore into mine and my heartbeat went up.

After that, we all had to do introductions. We all sat down and then I heard my mates heart beat really fast. Her breathing went heavy and was taken out of the room by the teacher.

"What's going on?" I turned back to who I was hoping one of her friends.

"Oh, she has panic attacks regularly. It's bad that it happens to the sweetest of people. Harriette is such a lovely girl and so kind but she gets them. Mrs Cooper is a family friend of hers and helps her at school, but sometimes her dad has to come in." The girl told me.

So her names Harriette? Such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. I wonder what parent came up with her name. Tobias was hazily smiling in the back of my head just thinking about our mate.

After ten minutes, I used my werewolf hearing to listen outside. I could hear my mates breathing settle so I got up and opened the door.

I heard a small gasp then three people look up at me. My mate was on the floor with a man holding her hand, I guessed he was her dad but he didn't seem that old. Then Mrs Cooper with them.

"I'm sorry to interrupt. I just come to ask if I can go to the bathroom." I lied. My mate then stood up and walked away, the man had a worried look on his face as he watched Harriette walk off.

"Yes, Damien. You may go." Mrs cooper said. I nodded then went the opposite direction of my mate, hoping it would lead me to her and I could see her again.

I could hear Mrs cooper and the man talking, even with my wolf hearing I couldn't hear what they were saying. Eventually I found the toilets and went in. Surprisingly I actually did need to go.

Once I was done and washed my hands, I opened the door and went out, only to bump into someone. My arms reached around their waist to stop them from falling, only to get sparks all over my body.

"I'm so sorry. I'm such a idiot I should have looked where I was going." My mate said quickly, fear in her eyes like I was going to hurt her or something.

"No, it's ok. You're not an idiot, I should have been more careful." I smiled at her. She seemed to calm down and melt into my arms. My heart melted and I just wanted to have her for myself.

"We should get back to class." Harriette smiled nervously. I nodded and let go of her, only to realise she was nervous because my arms were still wrapped around her waist.

We both walked in silence but now I could think a bit more, I could smell wolf and vampire on her. She didn't have a scent so I gathered she was human so I didn't question it.

"So, Mrs Cooper, she seems nice." I started conversation.

"Yeah, she helps me a lot. Teaching me things and stuff like that." My mate shrugged.

"Your friend told me she's a family friend." I stated.

"Yeah. She's good friends with my dad and can help with my panic attacks. But today I guess it was bad one and she had to call me dad." I sighed.

"How long have you had them?" I asked wanting to get to know my mate. She's human and will eventually know about me being a werewolf but I want to have as much time as I can with her.

"A long time. Since I was little." She sighed. We made it back to the classroom then sat down.
