Ryker POV

Early this morning I heard someone come in. Harriette's scent got to me but she went straight to a spare room. Not long after, the sound of my son crying filled my ears.

I ran up the stairs to his nursery and picked him up. He stopped crying and smiled at me. We both went downstairs to see dustin sat at the table with a coffee.

"Hey baby, what you doing up?" I pecked his lips and gave him our son.

"Shelby told me Damien's at the cottage again." He sighed. "I might go talk to him today about Harri. I'm not sure."

"If you want to. I have to go back to the pack house as well to do some paperwork then I'll be back. You ok to take Alec?" I asked as I started making breakfast.

"How come I haven't met your parents? Do they know about me and Alec?" Dustin put our son in his high chair before leaning on the table and looking at me.

"To be honest, no. They don't know about you or Alec because they'll kill not only you, but him as well. You're a vampire, Dustin, they hate them more than anyone I've ever met. And not to mention Alec will be killed because he's a hybrid." I argued.

"Then that's a risk I'm willing to take. He needs grandparents, Ryker. My family is dead, all of my blood family died in that damn war. I will not have my son grow up without grandparents to see and talk to. Because it's shit, and you never know he might be close with them." He stated.

"Yes I know they died, but you don't know how much my folks hate vampires. One look at you and Alec you'll both be killed. And that is something that I will not witness nor let happen."

"Fine. But don't blame me if our son doesn't get a good bond with his grandparents." Dustin said then got Alec and left the kitchen.

I turned off the oven and followed him to the living room. Alec was sat on the floor while Dustin was picking stuff up off the floor. I sat down on the sofa and waited for him to walk past me. When he did, I grabbed his waist and pulled my mate in between my legs.

I kept hold of his waist so he couldn't go anywhere. "Why is it so important to you, that Alec has a relationship with my parents?" I asked gently.

"Because I had such a good relationship with my grandparents. And if anything happens to us I want someone in the family, his blood to take him in." Dustin cried.

"Baby I'm only looking out for you. I can't sit and watch you die by my parents hands same with our son. But if it means so much to you, then I'll go today and talk to them about it." I negotiated.

"But I swear to god, Dustin. If they say anything about your or Alec out of line we're leaving. Even just a scratch on you I will not be held responsible for hurting them back. Same with our little boy, none of you will be harmed at all." I added.

"Ok." He sniffled. "Alright, but they need to know they have a grandson and maybe a few more in a couple years time."

"Of course." I smiled up at him. Then I pulled him down to my level and kissed him softly yet passionately.

After that, I made breakfast for all of us then headed to the pack house. What am I thinking anyway.

When I got to the house, I saw the alpha, Luna, my dad and mum sat in the kitchen. It wasn't unusual for all of them to be sat together but they had pissed off expressions.

"Why didn't you tell us?" My dad spoke firmly.

"Tell you what?" I asked confused.

"That you found your mate? Why didn't you tell us?" My mum looked at me with sadness in her eyes. "And that it's a boy."

"Because what I do is none of your business. If I wanted to tell you about my mate than I would have. I bet you didn't tell grandma and grandpa about dad until you were ready." I snapped.

"When I met your father life was different." My mum stated. "He had to go up to my dad for permission to marry me and if he didn't see him fit we would have rejected each other. Don't tell me what happened when you weren't even born."

"Don't turn this on me, mum. I have a right to have privacy in my life. Not everything revolves around you four. No disrespect to the alpha and Luna, but you also don't get to say what goes on in my life." My voice started getting louder.

"Yes it does. We need to know who and what the next beta will be. Wether he be human warlock or wolf. We need to know." The Luna spoke softly.

"Ryker how long have you had your mate?" The alpha asked. He didn't partly yell at me like my mum and dad.

"Almost two years." I replied.

"And have you mated and marked each other?" The Luna questioned.

"Yes." I nodded.

"Is there anything else we need to know?" They sighed.

"We have a pup." I stated. "And he's a hybrid."

"What species?" The alpha said curiously.

"Half wolf." I took a deep breath. "And half vampire."

"What?" My dad roared.

"How could you betray our pack but mating with a vampire?" My mum yelled at me.

"Because I love my mate just like you love dad. I will gladly become rogue so I can be with my mate and son." I shouted back.

"How old?" Alpha asked.

"He's one." I replied.

"What's his diet like?"

"Baby food, sometimes proper food if it's soft enough for him to eat. At night he has milk. Usual baby things." I told him.

"What about his cravings?" Luna asked.

"None yet. But I have a friend to help when that time does come. With thirst control and he'll have her when he gets the urge to hunt as well." I explained.

"Who's this friend?" They asked.

"Her name is Harriette. She's the first hybrid, wolf and vampire."

"How dare you associate with that creature. And have one of your own." My mum gasped.

"My son and friend is not a creature. They are just like us only part vampire to." Glared at my parents. "Get over yourselves and think about the good things not the negative."

"We would like to meet this hybrid and your son. Where can we come to do that?" Luna asked me.

I gave her the coordinations to the cabin then left. I couldn't be near my parents, not when they said that about my son and mate. He was furious and would rip anything apart.
