Damien POV
I looked at my friends mesmerised by their new baby. A smile formed on my face because who wouldn't. But then I looked at Harriette. Even though she had a smile on her face, I could see her crying.
I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her waist. Her hands went on to mine while I softly kissed her neck. I felt her hands leave mine then cover her face.
I picked her up and walked out of the room. I cupped her cheeks and moved her hair out of her face.
"What's wrong baby? Why are you crying?" I asked her.
"I can't help but wish that was us holding our baby." Her voice cracked as she spoke. I immediately pulled her to my chest, holding her head in the crook of my neck.
Her sobs came out but muffled by my neck. I could feel her tears on my skin making my heart break even more. Just then her knees buckled and we fell to the floor. All I could do was keep her close and tight to me as much as I could.
There is nothing more painful in the world than seeing my mate like this. The worst part about it is that I could feel how much pain she was in. The mate bond let me feel what she was going through and I wouldn't be able to handle it.
Through the bond I know much she was hurting, but I can't bare to think what she feels herself. The need to make her feel better was strong but I didn't know what to do. All I could do was kneel on the floor and hold her close to me.
"Baby it's ok. We'll be ok I know we will. It hurts I get that but it's not forever." I told her.
"I feel so bad and selfish for crying. This is about Ryker and Dustin having their baby. And I'm here being a selfish bitch." She sobbed.
"You're not. I'm sure they understand why you're upset. Dustin out of both of them should get why your sad. Baby it's ok, they know how much you want a baby so you can cry." I told her.
This breaks my heart, and I have no idea how to stop it.
Dustin POV
Just holding my son in my arms is a relief. Thank god to Harriette for researching and practicing how to deliver babies. She is my rock and I don't know how I can repay her for getting my baby into this world safely.
When I looked around the room, I couldn't see Damien or Harriette. I smirked thinking they went somewhere to have a quickie. But then my eyes went to the door and saw them both.
Damien held Harriette close to him but then they fell to the floor. She was crying and I felt bad knowing how much this hurt her. Having to deliver another's baby when she can't reproduce herself.
I could feel her sadness rolling off her in waves making me feel bad. But I know for a fact this won't last long because they will have a baby one day.
"Harri?" Aiden called her. Worry written all over his face seeing his daughter upset.
"I'm ok. I'm ok, it's about Dustin and Ryker. I'm all good." She sniffled and wiped her eyes.
She sat at the end of the bed and cleaned up the dirty towels, putting clean ones underneath me.
"Do you want to hold him?" I asked. Harriette's head shot up to look at me. Shock was evident making me smile.
"No... well yes but doesn't Ryker want to hold him first? Seeing as he's the other dad?"
"Ye-," Ryker started.
"Oh well. You brought our son into this world safely. If Ryker did it then he would have lost one of us not knowing what to do. I give the honour of holding our son before his dad." I smiled.
"Ok when you put it that way I can see why." Ryker chuckled.
Harriette nodded then sat next to me, leaning against the pillows. She carefully picked him up and cradled him in the towel.
"What's his name?" She asked not taking her eyes off my son.
"Alec Harrison. Alec from shadow hunters because he's hot, and Harrison because it's similar to the amazing girl that delivered him." I smiled.
"Not to mention he could be a hybrid like you." I told her through the mind link.
Harriette carefully placed her forehead against Alec's. "I will be here to help when the time comes." She whispered.
I could see the corner of my sons mouth curl up showing a small smile. My best friend silently cried as she held my baby keeping him safe in her arms.
"Harri?" I called her. She looked at me waiting for me to continue. "Will you be his godmother?"
"Yes. Thank you." She put her arm over my shoulders and laid her head on my shoulder.
"Oh, and Damien. Will you be his godfather?" Ryker looked his the alpha king.
"It'd be my honour. He's the next beta anyway. And he'll be great friends with mine and Harri's future kids." He winked at his mate.
Harriette blushed and went back to looking at Alec.
"You're my only family I have left." I sighed to harri.
"No I'm not. You have my dad, Shelby, Derek, Ryker, Damien, Toby, Tom and Jeremy to." She giggled. "Speaking of, where have they been?"
Before anyone could answer, the door opened and in came Toby, Tom and Jeremy.
"Where's our nephew then?" All three boys cheered.
