Harriette POV
It's now been three weeks since I've told the boys. I've known them for over two months and it feels longer. They have been really good friends to me, especially Ryker, Jeremy and Tom. Every chance I get, I always flash my eyes blue or red at them.
Whenever they laugh they all pass it off as coughing or saying a family member mind linked them as a joke. It's funny to see because they always come up with the most childish jokes making Damien roll his eyes at them.
Damien had officially asked me out so we have been a couple for two weeks. But he said we've been together ever since I came back from Spain so about five weeks.
Shelby always catches me flashing my eyes at the boys but always keeps quiet about it. My dad has told me to be careful but he knows Ryker will protect me. We were out running as vampires one time and got caught by Ryker.
He told my dad he would protect me no matter what. He'd become rogue if Damien tried to do anything to me. He'll join me, my dad, Shelby and Derek to help protect me. Of course my dad was grateful for that and said I have a good friend.
It was a normal Saturday until I smelt Ryker's scent. But he wasn't alone. I recognised them at Tom and Jeremy so it was ok. I smiled then climbed out of my window and into the trees.
When they were shifted to their human forms with shorts on, I jumped down from the tree and scared them. They all jumped and Tom let out a small scream.
"Hey." I smiled innocently at them.
"I just shat myself. How do you do that?" Tom breathed out.
"Do what? Jump from the trees?" I furrowed my eyebrows and walked up to them.
"Yeah. We can't even do that." He whined.
"Lexi loves to do it. Genuinely it's winter that jumps for the most part but we all get on in the fun." I shrugged.
"What are you guys doing here anyway?" I changed the subject.
"Well, since we are all wolves. I thought it would be fun if we all we for a run. And we'll stay out of pack territory since your rouge and Damien will be notified." Ryker said.
"Ok. Let's go." I squealed then went behind a tree. I took off all my clothes and shifted into my black and white wolf.
When I came back out from the tree, I saw Ryker's ginger wolf, a light brown one which I guessed is Jeremy and a golden coloured one which I guessed was Tom.
We all started running through the woods nudging one another. After half an hour of running, we came to a lake. It wasn't much but it was nice. Clear blue water with fish swimming around. I walked up to it and started drinking it.
Shelby had brought me here before so I had some leggings and T-shirt's around here somewhere. After my drink, I went over to a tree and found my black leggings and blue T-shirt. I never put white T-shirts out because they are fairly see through.
When I came back out, I saw all the boys laughing with each other. I smiled then went over to them and sat down between Ryker and Tom.
"So, what's it like being a wolf and vampire?" Tom nudged me with his elbow.
I laughed a little. "It's ok. I mean I get what you guys have but also the vampire abilities to. But my hearing is way better than yours, I'm faster in wolf and human form which is a bonus. Other than that it's good. I have a decent diet with one blood bag every other day and if we get peckish in between we catch a rabbit or squirrel." I told him.
"What about deer? Do you not get a deer?" Jeremy asked.
"No. I love the animal to much so if we do come across one while hunting we leave it. As tempting as it is, I can't bring myself to take it's like. But rabbits and squirrels are evil, especially squirrels so we just get them. But most of the time we are full from the bags so we only have to hunt once a month, maybe twice." I shrugged.
"Fair enough. As long as you don't eat us." Tom joked.
"I won't." I laughed. "I've never actually tried human blood from the vein and I don't want to either. I'm scared I'll become like a lot of the bad vampires and take lives. I can't bare that so I won't do it. Nothing will change my mind." I stated.
"How can the werewolf council say that shit about you? It's bullshit and they can't even see how kind you are." Jeremy sighed.
"What have they said about me?" I questioned them.
"That you're pure evil. That you are an abomination that you should be killed. You can take down a whole city in one night because of the blood lust. Now I've met you I don't know how they can say all of that." Ryker shook his head.
"It doesn't matter. I just need to get Damien to look at another girl that takes his liking. Then they can be together and I'll be able to leave. He wouldn't miss me and I can be me without any worries." I pulled my legs up to my chest and laid my chin on my knees.
"No wolf should be without their mates. I heard it's the same for vampires and their ones." Ryker said.
Before I could answer, I felt someone behind me. I used my vampire speed to get up and put my hand on their throat. I pinned them to the floor and bared my fangs at them. Lexi and winter both letting out growls.
"Well, well, well. Nice to see you still have your touch after all these years." He smirked at me.
"Dick head. Why are you sneaking up one me anyway?" I snapped at him.
My best friend, Dustin Myers everyone. He's done every time me and my dad go to a new country. How he can find us quicker than Damien is my question but never ask. He's older than me by 100 years so he's 250. He has always helped me and my dad get away while he distracted Damien.
"I've come to see my bestie."
