You walk out of you bedroom behind Clementine. She stops and turns to you after you shut the door.

Clem: If there's a problem, can you let someone else handle it?

You stifle a laugh.

You: Who else would deal with it then?

Clem: Stanley. He's big.

You: Being big doesn't translate to problem solving.

Clem: What if it's some new people wanting to fight?

You: It also doesn't automatically translate to being able to fight.

Clem: I want to spend time together.

She whines again.

You: We will. Violet didn't sound worried, I'm sure there's not a problem. I promise, we'll have time within the week.

Clem: If we don't, I'm moving on.

You: Ha! Yeah right.

She rolls her eyes at you.

Clem: Let's just go.

You walk behind her through the hall and out into the courtyard. There's no one in it, even Stanley has left his post at the gate.

You: Are you mad?

Clem: No.

You: You seem mad.

Clem: I'm just... I want to have our day together before something else happens.

You: If something else happens, I'll kill the problem as soon as it arrives.

Clem: You know it's not that simple.

You: Nothing will happen.

You open the door to the admin building and let Clementine in first. You follow her in and are met with everyone. They're grouped up in a circle.

Marina: Daddy!

Marina runs at you and hugs your legs. You place a hand on her back.

You: Hey Marina.

You look up at the others. They're all watching you.

You: What?

Brooklyn: We're just waiting for you to be ready.

You: I'm ready. What's the problem?

Violet: There isn't one.

You: Told ya.

You mutter to Clementine.

Violet: I'm just throwing out an idea.

Clem: What's the idea?

Violet: We move.

Clem: Where?

Violet: The Rest Stop.

You tilt your head slightly and squint your eyes.

You: You want to go live there?

Violet: It's a great place. It's got more room, it's nicer, there's more resources. I really just wanted to see if you were ok with it.

She's putting you on the spot. You're not sure.

You: I can't look at them.

Violet: I knew you wouldn't want to, so I thought, what if you stayed here. I take a few people and we go clean it up.

You start to fidget with your thumb. Clementine comes closer to you and grabs your hand. It calms you down.

You: Are you going to bury them?

Violet: Yeah.

You slowly start to nod your head.

You: Ok. If everyone else is fine with it.

Violet: Clementine is the only person who hasn't answered.

You look down at her.

Clem: Sounds good to me.

Violet: Alright. So, I was thinking that Brooklyn, Louis, and myself go. Stanley, Maren, Y/N, Clem, Aj, and Ruby stay to load up. Obviously, Ana and Marina aren't able.

You look over to see Ana in an old wheelchair. It's kind of gross, and you wonder how she can bring herself to sit on it.

Clementine nudges your arm. You look at her. She's signaling for something, but you don't know what she wants.

You: What?

Violet stops talking and everyone turns their attention to you.

Clem: Could you excuse us for a few seconds?

She pulls you away and into the piano room's entrance.

You: What?

Clem: This is our chance!

You: Clem, there's a ton of work to do.

Clem: We send them all down to the Rest Stop. Ruby stays behind to look after Ana and Marina. And, we get a ton of time alone!

You: We're going to have a house when we get there.

Clem: But, we can use the room you set up so we don't have to set another one up.

She's really excited. Her smile is wider than you've ever seen and it looks like it hurts. You can't tell her no.

You: Ok. We'll send them all away.

Clem: Yes!

You shake your head and walk back into the lobby area.

Brooklyn: Share with the class.

You look around at them.

You: So, instead of only sending three of you; you all go, except for Ruby, Marina, Ana, and us two.

Maren: Why?

Violet: Great idea.

She got the message. Not all of them did, but she did at least. They follow along despite not understanding why.

You smile at Clementine as she squeezes your arm.

------------------------

After a few minutes of discussion they start to disperse and get ready to head out. Brooklyn walks over to you and smirks.

Brooklyn: That was real smooth.

You: Shut up.

She laughs at you.

Brooklyn: Have fun.

She says as she walks away.

The lobby is empty except for you, Marina, and Clementine. You get down to the ground in front of Marina.

You: Did you have a scary dream again?

Marina: Mhm.

You: What was it about?

Marina: You were... Dying.

You: Does that make you sad?

She nods, and looks at the ground.

You: Do you think it'll happen?

She doesn't do anything, but you can hear her sniffle. You grab her arm, and pull her over to you. You put your right hand on the back of her head, your left one on her back, and hold her.

You: It won't happen. I promise.

You can feel her burying her head in your shoulder. You pick her up, and look at Clementine. She has a weak smile on her face.

You: Let's get this sorted out first. We have all day.

You whisper to her. She nods at you. Marina is more important.
