War.

A card game, typically played by two people. The cards are evenly distributed between the two. Both players flip over the card at the top of their, face-down, stack. The person with the highest ranking card wins the round, and the winner moves the cards to the bottom of their stack. Same ranking cards results in a war, where the two players flip two extra cards. The person with the highest total wins and takes all the cards. The objective is to have all the cards in the deck. The winner owns them all, and the loser has no cards left to play.

The winner has the higher ranking cards. It's luck based, but it's a lot like real war. The better army wins. The worse one, loses... Simple as that. Numbers don't really matter. If you have the better strategy, the better people, the better leadership; you win.

An Ace will always beat a two. They're leagues apart. Just like Y/N will always beat the random fool who fucks with him. But, what happens when an Ace comes up against an Ace? An equal battle. In the card game you just flip two more cards, the equivalent of reinforcements. Real war is different in this manner. Two Aces going up against each other will still result in a death. The survivor may walk away with injuries that leave them vulnerable. Reinforcements are not a guarantee and may not affect the battle, or they will drastically sway the battle. The Aces may just take them out too.

It's more like chess in that sense. The Queen will have a very easy time with the Pawns if they try to take the Queen out. But, if the Queen makes a mistake, she gone... Taken out by a Pawn, something that can't compare to them... The Queen will have a harder time dealing with another Queen. The battle will result in one losing, unless they both stop attacking. The move to take the other out could leave them vulnerable. Reinforcements, Pawns, may very well just be taken out as soon as they try something, or they may not get involved at all.

If you're lucky enough, smart enough, and skilled enough; you can make it out of war with everyone alive, no injuries, nothing bad happening... But I don't think that's ever happened.

Ruby: Louis!

Ruby opens my door in a hurry.

Me: What?

Ruby: The Van is pulling up. Aj is back.

Me: Thank God! Does he have anyone else with him?

Ruby: Still too far out to tell. He'll be here soon though.

Me: I hope he has Marina. I don't want to see what happens if Y/N comes back and she's not here.
