Your head hurts. It feels like it's pushing against your skull; thumping against it at random. You breathe out and then groan.

Opening your eyes, you can see the dark ceiling. No light shining into the room. You feel the small bed beneath you, and something wrapped around your forehead.

You sit up, and your head begins to throb Intensely. You wince and grab it with you hands.

Ruby: Lay back down!

You didn't notice Ruby enter the room. She sounds worried and rushes over.

You: Quit yelling.

You whisper.

Ruby: Stay down, and I won't need to.

You lay back down on your back and close your eyes.

Ruby: I'm worried you might have hurt your head real bad.

You: Probably... I flew off a car, going pretty fast, and hit the ground head first.

Ruby: That would explain the big gash on your head, and the road burns.

You: Mhm.

Ruby: Can you stand up for me?

You: You just told me to stay down.

Ruby: When I'm not telling you to stand up.

You: Ok.

You sit up first, then swing your legs over the edge. You plant them on the ground firmly, and try to stand. You catch yourself before you fall over.

Ruby: Can you not stand?

You: I... Can.

You let go of the bed, but only stand on your own for a few seconds.

Ruby: No balance?

You: I'm fine.

Ruby: What do you remember about today?

You: I was... Chasing someone? I fell off a car. Now I'm here.

Ruby: Anything else?

You: No, why? Did something else happen?

She looks kind of sad, and hesitates before saying anything.

Ruby: No. Nothing happened.

You: Ok, good.

Ruby: Catch.

She throws something at you. It smacks you in the face before you can catch it. The small thing falls to the floor. You don't know what it is. Ruby sighs.

Ruby: I think you have a concussion.

You: A what?

Ruby: You hurt your head pretty bad. You can't balance on your feet, you've lost coordination, and you've lost some memory.

She walks over and picks the thing up from the ground.

You: Wh-what? Wait, what am I not remembering?

Ruby: It'll come back to you. In a few days probably, but you're stuck here at the school for a few weeks.

You: What am I not remembering?

Ruby: Clementine can tell you.

She walks out of the room. What's happened? Is everyone alright?

You lay back down and close your eyes. It hurts your head to keep them open.

Clem: Y/N?

She's whispering.

You: Hi, Clem.

She runs over to you and falls on top of you. She's crying.

You: What's wrong?

Clem: Everything went wrong.

You: What're you talking about?

Clem: What do you mean?!

You: Loud. Please be quiet... Did Ruby not tell you?

Clem: Tell me what?

You: She said she was going to get you to explain everything to me. I hit my head a little too hard. I don't really remember what's happened.

Clem: Great. More shit to deal with.

You: What is happening?

Clem: We had a wedding.

You: We're married?

Clem: Well, no, not exactly. Some people, looking for you, killed Javi and Kate.

You: Oh no.

Clem: Then came inside. I guess they used it as a distraction. They took Marina when we could stop them.

You: Who?

Clem: Oh, uh... I don't know. I think the lady said her name was Amy. I couldn't here her too well.

You: No, who did they take?

Clem: Marina.

You: I... Don't know who that is.

Clem: What?

You: I don't know a Marina... Who is she?

Clem: She's... Our daughter, kind of.

She looks like she's about to cry. You can't figure out what is happening.

You: We have a daughter? I don't think we've... Y'know...

Clem: I need to go.

She stands up quickly, and walks away. She seems angry and sad, at the same time.

You: Wait, did I do something wrong?

Clem: No... Just get some rest.

You: Well, I'm sorry I can't remember anything.

Clem: You don't need to apologize.

You: I love you.

Clem: I love you too.

As she walks out of the room, you rest your head on the pillow beneath you again. You feel unreasonably tired, even though you've just woken up. A little more sleep couldn't hurt.
