No POV...
Deep in the heart of an old, ruined city, a lost little girl is huddled in a corner crying. She was born only a few years ago. Still not completely understanding what is going on. The city is full of Walkers, making people steer clear of the hell holes.
The Walkers found the little girl shortly after she arrived. She locked herself in a room hoping they would leave her alone, but they're still coming. Banging on the door and walls over and over. It's only a matter of time before they break in.
Little girl: Mommy...
She calls for her mom; hoping that maybe she'll come to her rescue.
The door breaks open after only minutes of the Walkers smashing into it. The little girl screams as the Walkers converge on her.
Little girl: Please, leave me alone!
The little girl closes her eyes and curls herself up as tight as she can. The sound of Walkers closing in on her is terrifying. The low, guttural groans getting closer to her, and with them, a painful death.
She tenses in expectation, until the groans disappear suddenly. She keeps her eyes closed and tenses even more. A hand touches her and she jumps.
Unknown: Hey, are you alright?
She looks up to see a man standing in the dark in front of her.
Unknown: Any bites?
The little girl shakes her head. He smiles at her.
Unknown: Good. What's your name?
He already knows. Her Mother sent him.
Little girl: Ma-Marina.
Unknown: That's a pretty name.
The little girl is shaking, still terrified by her near death experience.
Unknown: There's no need to be scared, because I am here.
Marina: Are you- Are you a good guy?
Unknown: Yeah. I'm a good guy.
He holds out his left hand and she takes it; it's covered by a glove. He closes it around her hand, and grabs her with his right hand. He puts her on his back.
Unknown: Ready?
Marina: Mhm.
Unknown: Alright.
The radio on his belt starts to make noise.
He takes it from his belt and waits.
Radio: Are you there?
Unknown: Kinda busy right now, old man.
Old man: I got someone who needs you. She'll be back in a week. Just thought I'd tell you.
Unknown: Well, I don't know how long I'll be.
Old man: Alright, be safe.
He puts the radio back.
Marina: Was that your friend?
Unknown: Yeah.
Marina: I don't have any friends. Mine all died.
The man looks down at the ground. No kid should have to go through this.
Unknown: We're friends.
Marina: Really?
Unknown: Of course.
He starts walking out of the room she was trapped in.
Marina: Are you going to stay with me, mommy, and daddy?
