Three trucks pull up to a camp. It's surrounded by makeshift walls. Everyone on the other side has stopped what they're doing to find out what's happening.

A woman steps out of the passenger seat of the front truck. No one else follows her, all staying put. She walks to the gate, and knocks.

Gatekeeper: Who are you?

Woman: Amy, now open up Charles. I don't have all day.

Charles: Right, sorry.

He pushes it open, and Amy walks in. Everyone looks at her. They all mumble as she walks towards an elevated position.

She reaches and stands atop an old table, and begins to speak.

Amy: I can see you all eagerly awaiting news.

She looks around at the group. They've started to form a semicircle around the table.

Amy: Just days ago, we watched as a man and a woman walked into the rest stop. The man, looked exactly like the bounty hunter.

Everyone's faces light up. They start talking amongst themselves, excitedly.

Amy: As we walked into the community he ran; hiding in a small town not far away. He has people with him, leading us to assume he has found a new group. We scared him out of town, and hopefully he will lead us to his group.

She pauses, surveying the crowd.

Amy: I can see you are all excited, but it might be a few days before you hear anymore. A scout is tailing him, a small group on standby, and I'm taking a small force. We're going to make sure he, and his group know that he is ours.

Some people start cheering.

Amy: We will kill those who appose us! We will bring him back! We will show him that we alone are worthy of him!

The whole group is yelling, cheering, chanting.

Your POV...

Marina: Y/N?

You: Yeah?

You're walking through the woods towards Ericsson's. Marina walks in between yourself and Clementine.

Marina: What's a tick?

You: Little parasites that look like spiders.

Marina: Ewww! Why did Clem check us for them?

Clem: They can make you sick, or kill you.

Marina: Oh.

You: Luckily, none of us had any on us.

Marina: Where are we going?

Clem: An old school. Our friends are there.

Marina: More friends?

Clem: Yeah, you're going to love em.

Marina: Is that going to be my new home?

You: Yeah.

Marina: What about Mommy and Daddy?

You: Do you remember what happened to them?

Marina: Yeah.

She sounds sad.

Marina: Now I don't have a Mommy and Daddy.

You: I don't either. Mine died when I was nine. Then I was on my own.

Marina: Well, maybe you guys can be my new Mommy and Daddy.

You: Uh-

Clem: Of course.

Marina: Can I call you Mommy and Daddy?

You: Um-

Clem: You can call us whatever you want.

Marina: Ok, Mommy.

You: Clem, can I talk to you for a second?

Clem: Sure, Marina go over there. Yell if anything happens.

Marina: Ok.

She walks away from you.

You: We're not her parents.

Clem: She's not asking us to be her parents.

You: Really, cause it sounded like you just told her she could call us Mommy and Daddy.

Clem: She was asking us to raise her. Her brain associates Mommy and Daddy as the people raising her, keeping her safe.

You: I've become a parent and I'm still a virgin. What the heck?

Clem: Since when have you known what that means?

You: Don taught me a whole bunch of stuff.

Clem: Good, you should know stuff like that.

You: Let's just get going. I don't like the direction this conversation has taken.

You start walking towards Marina with Clementine. Then you hear movement behind you. It's subtle and silent, most people would miss it.

You grab your pistol and spin around.

Clem: What?!

You look around, your pistol following your eyes. Something is out there.

Clem: Y/N?

You don't see anything.

Clem: Y/N! You're scaring Marina!

You turn around to see Clementine comforting, Marina.

You: It's alright, Marina.

You put your pistol back.

Marina: D-did they find us? A-are they going to hurt us?

You: No, no one found us. Everything is alright. I promise.

You look around again.

You: If I do something like that, you don't need to get scared. It's because I'm trying to keep you safe. No matter what, you will be alright when I'm around.

Marina: No matter what?

You: No matter what. I will keep you safe.

Marina: Ok.

You: Now come on.

You open your arms for her. Clementine lets go of her and she runs over to you. You put her on your back and start skipping. She giggles as you continue your trek to Ericsson's.

Radio: He almost got me Amy.

Amy: Pull back a little. You know who you're dealing with. Don't be stupid.

Radio: Copy that.

Amy: If you die, we'll have to start from nothing. At least make it to his base.

Radio: It won't happen again.

Amy: Good, we'll have him within the week. He's coming home.

A smile spreads across her face as she sits on the side of the road in her truck. Waiting for the bounty hunter to reveal where he's staying.
