"So you really forgive me?" Tommy asked as we stood in the elevator, our fingers intertwined.
"Yeah, but I'm still mad at you." I replied and he smiled softly.
"By the way, don't hang out with Nick anymore." He replied, my brow furrowed as my smile dropped.
"What?" I asked back, but his smile stayed on his face.
"I don't want you spending time with him. The guy isn't good for you. Trust me, I know guys like him." He replied and I nodded slightly.
"But why?" I asked again.
"The guys just wants to do you and dump you on the side of the road. Me on the other hand, I love you. Ronnie, I do." He whispered, kissing me as my thoughts flowed back to the conversation I had overheard. Maybe it wasn't about me, maybe I was just overthinking things, I thought to myself as we kissed. "So promise me you won't see him again." He ordered as we pulled apart and I shrugged.
"I don't know when he's going to be at places, but I can promise that I won't purposefully go places that I know he's going to be." I whispered and he nodded, smiling down at me.
"Good girl." He smirked as he followed me out of the elevator and back into our apartment.

"I'm going to take a shower." I whispered and he nodded, I walked into the bathroom sitting down on the floor and pulled out my phone, texting Nick.

-
Ronnie :): Hey, we can't hang out anymore
Bear boy: What? What happened? What did he do?
Ronnie :): He didn't do anything, this is me talking. I don't want to see you anymore
Bear boy: Um. Okay then
Ronnie :): Well not alone, we can be together in group situations
Bear boy: I look forward to that then.

My eyes started watering as I threw my phone on the ground next to me, pulling my legs up to my chest and digging my head into them. I don't want to lose Nick, I just met him, I thought as a few tears started falling from my cheeks. I got up from the ground and undressed, climbing into the shower, allowing myself to properly cry, knowing that Tommy wouldn't hear it. Once I had finished crying, I got back out of the shower changing into some sweatpants and a hoodie, I walked into the bedroom, climbing into the bed and turning on the tv to watch some Netflix. Deciding on Ghost. I grabbed my notebook off of the ground, brainstorming ideas for a new song to sing tonight at the bar.

After that movie, and another couple, it was 6:30 so I decided to get ready for the gig. I climbed out of bed, getting dressed into a short, denim skirt with a sweater, and some sneakers. I straightened my hair, and applied my makeup before walking out into the living room.
"I'm going to work, so I'll see you when I get back." I told Tommy and he nodded, looking up at me.
"Is Nick going to be there?" He asked and I shrugged.
"I don't know, I think Ryland was coming down so he might." I answered and he nodded slightly.
"If he is there, come straight back here." He ordered and I nodded back.
"Okay." I answered, grabbing my wallet and phone before walking down to the bar. I walked in, instantly noticing Ryland and Nick sitting at a table, I shot them both a smile before walking up to the platform.

"Hi guys, my name is Veronica Richards and I'm going to sing some songs." I smiled into the microphone, "I wrote this first song recently, it's called 'Goodnight n Go', and here it is... Tell me why you gotta look at me that way, you know what it does to me, so baby, what you tryna say? Ayy. Lately, all I want is you on top of me, you know where your hands should be, so baby, won't you come show me? Mmm. I got you, I got you dreamin', you close your eyes and you're screamin', play with your mind for no reason, I know you love how I tease it. You know that I'm playin', so don't be mistaken, you already know what I'm thinkin', boy. Oh, why'd you have to be so cute? It's impossible to ignore you, ah. Why must you make me laugh so much? It's bad enough we get along so well, Just say goodnight and go..."

--
I finished my set, making my way down to the boys. I sat down in between the two boys as my phone started to ring, the name 'Tommy x'.
"I'm going to get drinks you want one?" Nick asked and I nodded as I answered the phone, waiting for him to leave before I said anything.
"Hey babe, what's u..."
"Is he there?" He asked and I glanced up at Nick, who was at the bar.
"No, he's not. It's, uh, just Ryland. But I am going to stay for like an hour or so." I answered and Ryland gave me a weird look.
"Okay all good. Have fun and text me when you're on your way back." He replied and I nodded, hanging up the phone and placing it on the table, turning my attention who was still giving me the look.

"What?" I asked him, as if I hadn't just lied to my boyfriend about Nick being here.
"Are you.. Okay?" He asked back and I shot him a look as Nick walked back over with our drinks.
"Is this a group enough setting for you?" Nick asked as he sat down and I shrugged.
"It is for me." I answered in a near whisper.
"I like the new song." Ryland smirked and I glanced from him to Nick.
"You do? Thanks." I smiled and Nick nodded.
"Yeah me two." Nick agreed, placing his hand on mine for a second before pulling it away. I smiled down at my martini before turning back to the boys.
"So what did he say this morning?" Nick asked and I looked between him and Ryland.
"Oh, I don't know shit by the way. I was just told that you guys had a fight or something." Ryland explained and I nodded slightly.
"Well he just apologised for last night and um, told me that he loved me and asked me to come home." I answered and Nick's brow furrowed.
"But what about all of the other shit? Ronnie, this relationship isn't healthy. It's not normal." He whispered, leaning in closer to me.
"Nick, I don't need relationship advice. You asked a question and I answered it." I replied back, trying to mask my pain with irritation.
"I'm sorry, I guess you just called me crying last night and I was trying to make that shit stop." Nick replied back, also irritated.
"Fuck, you're right. I'm sorry Nick." I whispered back, taking a sip of my drink.
"I don't like what he does to you." He whispered, it was then that I noticed that Ryland had dipped on the conversation and was now sitting at the bar. "You want to come out for a smoke?" He asked and I shrugged.
"Uh, I've never done that before." I whispered and he smirked.
"Come on, I'll teach you." He instructed and I nodded as I stood up and followed him into the smoker's area, where there were a couple of couches and tables with a wall of windows that were fully open. He pulled a packet and lighter out of his back pocket, and grabbed two cigarettes out of it.

"So you don't know how to light it?" He asked and I shook my head, so he nodded, lighting one for me. "When you start, just like puff at it. And then when you get more comfortable with it, then inhale."
"Okay." I replied as he handed me the cigarette, I took a quick puff of the cigarette, instantly coughing. He laughed at me slightly as he placed his hand on my back.
"It's okay, you'll get used to it." He smirked and I nodded.
"Mhmm." I hummed as I kept coughing. Once my coughing fit had ended, I tried another puff, I coughed again, but it didn't last as long as my last one.
"So he's not letting you see me now?" He asked and I looked up at him.
"Wha..." I started in response but he shook his head.
"I mean, look at us here. Having fun, joking around. But you said that you didn't want to see me anymore. I know that's not true." He replied and I nodded slightly.
"I just think it's easier, with my whole situation." I whispered and his brow furrowed.
"Stop saying that like it was your decision." He groaned as I took another puff. "Be honest, do you really want me to say goodnight and go?"

Fuck, he knows the song was about him. I looked at him as a million thoughts raced through my mind.

"He loves me." I whispered and Nick furrowed his brow.
"Do you honestly believe that?" He whispered back, his face now inches from mine.
"He told me he loves me." I whispered again as my eyes watered over, I pulled my face away from Nick's before inhaling the cigarette. It felt good in my stomach as my head clouded slightly.
"This isn't how you treat people that you love." He whispered as he stood up, walking back into the bar, leaving me with my cigarette. I felt a single tear slide down my cheek as I rested my head back against the seat. When I finished it, I stood up as well, walking back out into the bar where I saw Ryland and Nick sitting back at the table.

"I'm going home." I muttered, picking up my wallet and phone, texting Tommy to let him know I was on my way.
"Okay, see ya." Ryland smiled and I forced a smile back at him.
"Goodnight." Nick said, looking me dead in the eyes. I nodded at him before walking out of the bar. I walked towards my apartment building, as I was approaching the front door, it opened revealing a girl in a short, tight, leopard-print dress and some stilettos. The girl smelled familiar, but peculiar, almost like strawberries. I decided to ignore her as I entered the building, making it into my apartment where Tommy was waiting to give me a hug.

"Ronnie, you smell like cigarettes." He stated with his brow furrowed as I breathed him in.
"And you smell like strawberries."
