21. Sign me?

I was still awake when Nick started to stir, he had his arm wrapped tightly around me and his forehead was pressed against mine. His breathing hitched as his grip tightened slightly, his brow furrowing and eyes squinting while remaining closed as his head moved away from mine.
"Morning." I whispered as his eyes opened slightly, the corners of his mouth curving up into a small smile.
"Mornin' beautiful." His morning voice croaked out. I pecked his lips softly as his fingers, of the hand that wasn't wrapped around me, played with my hair. I bit my bottom lip as we pulled apart, his eyes opening slightly. "What doin today?" He asked and I smiled softly, mental note: morning Nick doesn't make sentences.
"I have a meeting with that manager at 1. But apart from that, nothing." I replied and he nodded slightly.
"You're gunna do great." He smiled back at me.
"Thanks Nicky." I replied, "I'm gonna go get some breakfast."

I climbed out of the bed, ruffling Nick's hair slightly as I did so. I put back on my jeans from the night before, left the bedroom and walked down to the empty kitchen. I made myself some coffee and poured a bowl of cereal, sitting at the table outside to eat. After about 20 minutes, I was joined by Nick, Ryland and another guy that I recognised from some of Nick's TikToks but I hadn't met in person.
"Morning guys." I smiled as they sat around the table.
"Morning." Ryland smirked back at me.
"Morning. Who are you?" The other guy asked.
"Uh, this is Ronnie. You know, Josh's sister." Nick replied, giving me a small smile. The guy's jaw instantly dropped as his glance shifted from me to Nick to Ryland.
"Oooh! This is Ronnie! Like, Nick's Ronnie!" The guy shouted, a small smile curving onto my lips as well. Nick's Ronnie, the words rung through my ears.
"Shh, shut the fuck up dude. Josh doesn't know anything." Nick explained and the guy nodded, before turning his attention back to me.
"Oh shit, sorry. I'm Chase." He introduced himself and I nodded slightly, brow furrowed.
"Chase... How do I know that name?" I asked and Ryland nodded slightly.
"Him and Charli used to date, now they're... Uh, complicated." Rylo explained and I nodded.
"Oooh, right. Yeah that's how I know you." I smiled back at him.

"Yo Ronnie, can you film a TikTok for me." Nick pouted about 30 minutes later. I was sitting on the couch with Mads, scrolling on our phones.
"Uh, yeah. What do I have to do?" I asked back as I stood up, walking over to him.
"Cool, it's outside." He smiled, I followed him out to the stairs on their balcony where Ryland and Chase were waiting.
"So we're going to start on the stairs and like walk over to you, and then you just like walk backwards with us so that we like stay the same distance from the phone. Does that make sense?" He asked and I nodded as he passed me the phone.
"Okay, three... Two... One..." I said before starting the video, watching the boys through the screen as I followed Nick's instructions from before. We finished filming it, the boys gathering around me to watch it. I started the video back, feeling Nick's hand hold onto my hips as he watched over my shoulder.
"Damn, that's good." Chase smiled as the video ended.
"Yeah, I'm happy." Ryland agreed as I passed the phone back to Nick.
"Okay, I'm posting it."

I sat back down next to Mads, her showing me a funny TikTok that she had found while I was outside with the boys. They filmed a couple more dancing TikToks outside before coming back in, sitting around the room with us Nick and Chase sitting on the couch across from us and Ryland sitting next to me. We were soon joined by Avani and Anthony, then Josh and Nessa.
"Bro why was Ronnie wearing your hat last night?" Josh asked as soon as he entered the room.
"Good morning Josh. I slept well, thank you." Nick replied, I heard Ryland chuckle slightly as he murmured, 'I bet you did', making me smirk.
"Dude, don't be stupid, just answer the question." Josh replied, obviously aggitated.
"Josh, over here." I replied, his attention turning to me, "I was drunk and he was wearing a hat at night. So for whatever reason, I took it."
"Funny how you always have an excuse for this shit." Josh growled, I furrowed my brow as I sat up slightly.
"What shit?" I asked in return.
"All of this you and Nick shit. Like every question about him that I ask, you have an answer for." Josh growled again, my eyes rolling.
"That's how questions work, dumbass. And it's only because you're making big things out of nothing." I replied, his face softening slightly.
"Swear that nothing's going on?" He asked and I took a deep breath, crossing my fingers where he couldn't see them.
"I swear." I replied, staring him dead in the eyes.
"Okay." He breathed out as he sat down next to Nessa. I glanced over at Nick, who was giving me a weird look, I made sure Josh wasn't watching before revealing my crossed fingers to Nick. Once he noticed, a small smile formed on his lips. Why does he have to be so cute? I thought as I leaned back. Going back to my phone. I noticed that the time was 11:30.
"Oh guys, I'm going to head home and get ready for this meeting. But I'm playing again tonight at the bar, you guys should come down." I offered and they nodded, agreeing that they would come.

I walked back to Sway, walking up to my room and changing into some blue jeans and a white button up shirt. I applied my makeup to hide the dark circles under my eyes, and brushed out my hair, leaving it out. I grabbed my notebook, throwing it in my purse before ordering an uber. I waited out the front of Sway until the Uber arrived, taking it to the cafe that Jason had sent me. When I arrived, I was immediately waved over to a table where two men were sitting.
"Hi, I'm Veronica Richards, but I go by Ronnie." I smiled as I reached them, shaking both of their hands.
"Hi Ronnie, I'm Jason and this is my head writer Pete." Jason introduced as I sat down across from them.
"Nice to meet you both." I smiled back. We chatted for a while, them asking about my style of music, my plans for the future, amongst other things.
"Ronnie, do you have a sample of you're music, perhaps lyrics or something?" Pete asked and I nodded as my face lit up. I pulled out my notebook.
"This has everything I've ever written, but the more recent stuff is better." I informed as I flipped to a random page that I knew had recent music on it.
"What's this one... Flicker?" He asked as he started reading the lyrics to himself. I felt my stomach flip over and over again as I thought back to the night I sang this song on the beach as Nick and I danced. "Wow, this is some great stuff." Pete smiled, pulling my focus back to them.
"It's one of my favourites." I smiled.
"This will be your first single. Then we'll start working on the album." Jason informed, making my jaw drop.
"Wait, are you saying that you'll sign me?" I asked and he nodded slightly.
"Yes, that is what I'm saying."
