Story one:

Setting: The second Burial Mounds siege.

Summary: Grandmaster Qiren is shaken to see Gusu robes on Wei Wuxian.

Triggers: None.

Wei Ying looked around at these stubborn clan leaders ready to die fighting an army of puppets instead of listening to him. He sighed, these people ruined his life multiple times, took everything from him, killed everyone he cared about and sought for his blood... and yet he couldn't just stand here and watch them get slaughtered.

Turning to Lan Zhan, he conveyed his decision through his eyes and saw something break in Lan Zhan when the other realised what he was going to do. Taking a deep breath, he reached for his robes before tearing them apart and dropping them to the floor.

At the movement, Grandmaster Qiren looked over and gasped quietly at the sight of Gusu robes... Lan Wangji's Gusu robes.

Wei Wuxian had been in Cloud Recess right under his nose. He clenched his fists, hearing the whispers, "Wangji!" He glared at his nephew, "He was in Gusu?" He questioned, noticing the awkward wince on Wei Ying's features.

Wei Ying turned to Lan Zhan for a moment before tensing, "A-ah," He cleared his throat. If he answered yes both Lan Xichen and Lan Zhan would receive punishment, he quickly spun a lie, "I got stabbed... I couldn't stay in my robes forever these are-" He paused, realising while that lie would get Lan Xichen out of trouble it would make a whole new issue.

He winced.

Behind his stoic mask Lan Zhan was laughing, Wei Ying, you sweet man. He thought, before speaking, "We have not been back to Cloud Recess, those are my robes." He spoke, his insides twisting in happiness when he heard the entire room and Wei Ying gasp.

Now they know you're mine.

Story two:

Setting: Qinghe Nie Sect at nighttime.

Summary: Wei Ying hits his breaking point. Requested by: ritz_no_fitz

Triggers: Suicidal thoughts.

Wei Ying sighed, he had gotten out of the Burial Mounds just a month ago and everything had been hectic since then. They'd defeated the Wen Clan a week ago, and despite the threat being gone and everything gradually becoming calm again, Wei Ying felt no better.

If anything he felt worse.

Before the Wen Clan was defeated he had something to focus on but now his mind was free to destroy itself, upon his rooftop he sobbed.

Madam Yu's hateful words echoed around his head, the ones he had been hearing all his life, the stoic boy that makes his heart shake is avoiding him like the plague, and he has everlasting trauma.

Far away, a dog barks and it makes Wuxian jump, wrapping his arms around himself he bites his lip to silence his sobs, aware that his fellow cultivators sleep beneath his feet. Shaking madly, his movements make the loose tiles tremble in tune and he digs his nails into his arms.

Trying to stop shaking is something he cannot do so he just hopes that the sleeping teens below him don't hear the tiles. Wuxian gulps, his cheeks damp with the tears that keep falling he lets out a mix of a huff and a whine.
