If you were to ask Jiang Yanli to make one wish, it would be to ensure her younger brother's happiness. Jiang Yanli wants nothing more in this world than for her family to be happy, in her own way, she's always protecting her younger brothers best she can.

Jiang Cheng is very hot-headed, he has a short temper and often lashes out at people quickly... but seeing as he is a clan leader now, he could lash out at the wrong person.

Every morning, Jiang Yanli talks to Jiang Cheng about the day ahead and very subtly prepares him to keep his anger in check.

Right now, however, that's a very difficult task seeing as the war against the Wen clan has only just ended and everyone is still on edge.

This war is affecting her brother's happiness and she hates it. Jiang Cheng is constantly angry and ever since he came back Wei Wuxian has... well, changed.

Jiang Yanli has raised her younger brother's, their emotions are always obvious for her... but not anymore. Wei Ying is always wearing a mask, always on edge, he's no longer open with her, he's holding secrets, he flinches whenever you touch him, and he's not the playful baby brother she's used to.

Instead of becoming the subordinate, he was meant to, he flees as early as five in the morning to any random tavern and spends his days drinking his misery away.

Jiang Yanli has no idea what to do, her brother is broken and clearly, she is powerless to help him and he seems to avoid Jiang Cheng at all costs. Every time Jiang Cheng tries to touch him or hug him like yesterday when he was yelling about how worried he was Wei Ying would step back or stop his hands with his flute.

The woman sighed, scrambling her brain for an idea to help her brother but how can she help him when he cowers at a single touch?

Pursing her lips, she continued to wipe down her parent's plaques as the moon began to dawn on Lotus Pier. Gazing out of the window, she absentmindedly continued to clean as she let herself become consumed by the orange gradient. All the colours of the sunset merged together creating an ethereal view that made her smile.

For a moment, she forgot the crippling concern she felt for Wei Ying as she stared at the view, but only for a moment because it seemed like not even a second later a young disciple was running in.

Jiang Yanli frowned, standing, she gently placed the plaques back in place before nodding for the boy to speak, "L-Lady Jiang," He paused, standing straight again, "Clan-Leader-Jiang has sent for you, the Twin Jades of Gusu has arrived."

At that, Jiang Yanli became a little giddy and smiled, bowing her head, she then left and lightly jogged toward the main hall where Jiang Cheng and the Lan brothers would be.

Jiang Cheng had sent a letter to them requesting they write back with their knowledge on demonic cultivation, hoping if he learned about it he could aid his brother but to his surprise; they offered to teach in person.

This was because there was just too much to explain, they could never fit it into one single letter, plus, Lan Xichen could see the worry for Wei Ying all over Wangji's face. He was drowning in it. Of course, he was, the lively, playful, happy boy he loved suddenly disappeared and all that was left was fear, sadness, and anger.

Even Lan Xichen was concerned.

Jiang Yanli smiled, Maybe this is the key to getting our Xianxian back...

Wei Ying shivered, finding himself swaying side to side as he clumsily walked home into the late hours of the night. Nobody would be awake, it was almost midnight.
