Wei Ying sat beside Lan Zhan, leaving his brother to make his lantern with Second-Young-Master-Lan, "Eh, Lan Zhan!" He smiled, making Lan Zhan's heart shake, yet he kept up his stoic mask, "Let's make a lantern together, hm?" He proposed before shuffling closer so their knees touched.

Lan Zhan gulped thickly, his eyes glancing over to his uncle and brother currently observing, he internally sighed, "Hm." He nodded, making Wei Ying's jaw fall open.

He quickly smiled though, laughing in joy, "Alright, I'll make a lantern for us!" He cheered, grabbing a paintbrush and some ink.

Wei Ying began painting, rambling next to Lan Zhan who for once didn't seem to mind it, in fact, maybe they were going crazy, but Grandmaster Qiren and Lan Xichen swore they saw him smile.

Wei Ying sighed, doing gentle strokes with the paintbrush until he saw the way Lan Zhan was weaving the lantern, "Eh, Lan Zhan!" He smiled, "You should do it like this, it makes the flame last longer." He said before taking Lan Zhan's hands in his.

Grandmaster Qiren and Lan Xichen held their breath as they watched Lan Zhan's head snap toward Wei Ying and his ears turn red. Wei Ying ignored his shocked look, his stomach filling with butterflies as he tried to hold his smile while intertwining his hands with Lan Zhan's.

Lan Zhan gulped, but didn't tear his hands away, instead, paid attention to what Wei Ying was telling him and watched how Wei Ying guided his fingers to weave. He listened intently to his voice, the melody making his brain feel like mush as his skin tingled from the physical contact.

Wei Ying... what are you doing to me? He thought weakly.

When Wei Ying pulled his hand away and asked him to demonstrate, Lan Zhan felt his heart sink a little yet weaved the way Wei Ying told him to nonetheless. When Wei Ying cheered for him, only for him... he couldn't help but turn to him and smile.

Lan Xichen's heart warmed, and even though the man would never admit it, Grandmaster Qiren's did too. Yet he huffed, pushing down the warmth he glared at Wei Wuxian for being so carefree, "Xichen..." He spoke quietly, stroking his beard, "Do you think Wei Wuxian is a positive influence on Wangji?" He asked.

Lan Xichen grinned, "Uncle, Wangji is very disciplined while Master-Wei is very outgoing and laid back, I think he can teach Wangji to feel more... I think he's good to have around, you can see the emotion in Wangji's eyes when he's here... usually... he's numb." He finished sadly.

Grandmaster Qiren sighed and nodded, continuing to watch the two carefully who seemed to be in their own little world.

Wei Ying applied the final bit of paint to his lantern before proudly showing Lan Zhan whose eyes lit up like stars when he saw it. A cute picture of a bunny with a headband with the words, 'Wei Ying & Lan Zhan' below it next to a heart.

Lan Zhan's heart started to pound like a drum in his chest, his fingers were still tingling from Wei's touches before, and his entire body felt hot. Gazing at the paint strokes, he was shaken from his daze by giggling, "You're smiling!" Wei Ying beamed.

Lan Zhan's head snapped toward him, his smile dropping making Wei Ying pout, "Agh, Lan Zhan you should smile more! You're very handsome when you smile." He grinned.

Lan Zhan's eyes widened, "You think so?" He subconsciously leaned forward, the gazes from his brother and uncle no longer a priority.

Wei Ying turned to him again, his lips frowning a little, "Lan Zhan? You care about my opinion?" He paused, grinning while Lan Zhan's ears blazed red and he looked away, shy, "Well in that case, of course! You're a very handsome man." Wei Ying smirked, his words making Lan Zhan timidly lower his head.
