"Come on let's find seats" Harry said to the others and walked off down the train, before pulling open the door of an empty compartment.
"People are staring at us because we're with you" Neville said looking around nervously at all the people looking at them.
"They're staring at you because you were at the Ministry too" Harry pointed out. "Our adventure was all over the Daily Prophet"
"Yeah I thought Gran would be furious about it but she was really please" Neville said, his face lighting up.
"She says I'm starting to live up to my dad, she even got me a new wand" he said pulling out his wand.
"Cherry and unicorn hair" he said proudly "Gran reckons it was one of the last Ollivander ever sold, he vanished the next day" Neville told them.
"Are we still having DA meetings this year?" Luna asked Harry looking up from the Quibbler.
"No point is there now that Umbridge is gone" Harry told them.
"I liked the DA, I learned loads from the two of you" Neville said looking throughly disappointed.
"I enjoyed the meetings too, it was like having friends" Luna said suddenly.
"Don't be silly Luna, of course you've got friends" (Y/n) smiling at her. "How's the Quibbler anyway?"
"Really good, want a look?" Luna asked him getting and sitting next to him and pushing the magazine towards him.
(Y/n) took it from her and flipped through the different articles, until one caught his eye.
The Mysterious Wand
There have been stories about a mysterious wand, one that has no records of being made, one with a confusing history.
It is best to start at the beginning. The first records of this wand date around 400 B.C, well before most wand makers brought their art to Britain.
The owner of this wand was known to be a short woman, with black hair ending around the small of her back.
This is known as she appeared mysteriously one day in a small house that would one day become the location of the Leaky Cauldron.
The owner of this house was throughly scared and ended up hiding in his pantry until the lady had left.
Records from his personal journal have said that the woman was of small stature, with a ragged looking cloak pulled around her, with her black hair barely visible from the hood. He made particular note of her intricate wand, given that most wands of the time were shoddily made, and unreliable.
From here we can know that this woman stayed nearby in this small magical village that had been established in the vicinity, and, despite the fact this small village would burn down in a few year, was in fact the precedent of Diagon Alley.
From records recovered from this place we can determine, based on description, that this wand was most likely made of cherry wood, which is highly unusual as the cherry tree was not brought to Britain until the Romans arrived, historian approximate the year to around 42 B.C.
Multiple records say that this lady would often pull out a small circular metal device, on a thin golden chain of unknown use or creation, as the only thing matching its description would be a pocket watch, which had not been invented at the time.
This device she protected with her life, and would not allow anyone to hold it or even touch it.
She would not give a name out to any who asked, however inside her cloak there are multiple records of it having supposedly said Mme. Malkin.
Perhaps this Malkin was a decent of the robe maker of the very same name, who has set up shop in Diagon Alley.
Malkin was supposedly gifted at creating fires, as she was challenged to her own share of fuels during he short known life, all of which she won through the use of fire based magic, either using it defensively or offensively.
This mysterious Malkin, while the method she arrived in this time were unknown, her purpose for being there was in fact very clear. She would spend most of her days looking for Ollivander.
Claims say that she was looking for a "skilled wand maker by the name of Ollivander." Now Ollivander did not set up shop until 382 B.C, almost 20 years after when Malkin arrived.
This is all that is known about our mysterious Malkin, supposedly the first owner of this mysterious and powerful wand, as a few months after she arrived she was murdered.
After single handily using this wand to repel an attack from a dark wizard and his army of inferi in which Malkin supposedly created a large creature composed entirely of fire to drive off the inferi, she was killed in her bed.
That night she was celebrated as a hero of the village, that is until she was murdered in her sleep, her body was found the next day, with her wand next to her. The only thing people could find missing was the mysterious metal device she had protected with her life.
From here records are spotty, as few wands marching this description can be found in history, and none of them have been able to produce the supposed feats of this wand.
In fact all wands matching this description have in fact failed to produce any magic at all. This wand was sought out by myriad dark wizards hoping to reproduce the magic this wand could produce.
Every time this wand has supposedly fallen into wizards or witches hands it has failed to produce the smallest indication of magical ability.
The only person to have been able to produce magic with this wand was a particularly bumbling and clumsy wizard by the name of Portious Pernick, who as many of you know, experimented with many magical creatures, such as the Nargle and Crumpled Horn Snorkack.
As the story goes he was able to survive the killing curse from Loxias and the Death stick. Most historians ignore this, and claim it to be fake, but believe me it is true.
However it is unknown if it was the wand that protected him or it was the crumpled Crumples Horn Snorkack horn that he invested earlier in the day.
We will never know as the next day he decided to test it out, and was killed by his own friend.
And this is where the story ends, from here it is unknown what happened to this wand, or if it still exists today.
"You ask him!"
"No you!"
"I'll do it"
It was this whispered conversation that pulled (Y/n) out of his reading.
"Hi Harry, I'm Romilda, Romilda Vane" she said confidently to Harry.
