Chapter 27: Hogsmead

"Hey Ginny you want to join us in Hogsmead?" Harry asked. The four of them were walking towards the entrance of the castle along with all the other students who had permission to go to Hogsmead, all of them bundled up against the cold.

"Sorry I can't I'm going with Dean" Ginny said with a smile, causing Harry to frown momentarily. "But I might see you there" she said before turning around and hurrying off into the crowd of students.

As they stepped outside (Y/n) immediately bent double against the cold wind that was biting at his face.

He wrapped his arm around Hermione and pulled her close to him, feeling her warm breath on his neck and enjoying the heat radiating from her body.

Ron let out a sort of angry grunt at this and started to walk a bit ahead of them.

"Sorry Ron forgot about you." (Y/n) shouted to be heard over the wind that was whipping through the snow. "I've got another arm right here." Ron was not amused by this, but it did earn a chuckle from Harry.

Hogsmead was depressing. And the weather only made it worse. Most of the store were closed and boarded up, and the ones that were open had their windows covered in Ministry posters about Voldemort and his followers.

The four of them trudged along the road fighting the wind for a bit longer before Ron pointed a gloved and shaking had at a store. "Ober dere" he said, his voice muffled by his chudley cannons scarf.

Honeydukes stood out like a beacon in the night, a paradise of warmth and candy in the harsh cold.

"Thank god" Ron said after they had entered the packed store and let the door close behind them, sealing off the entrance to the harsh cold wasteland outside.

"Let's stay here all afternoon" he added unwinding the scarf from his neck.

"No no no!" A voice called to them. "You're not allowed to be here" Mr Flume said fuming as he walked up to (Y/n).

"A lifelong ban means life long! No exceptions" he said ushering him out of the store.

"But-" (Y/n) started trying to defend himself.

"No if ands or buts about it" Mr Flume said, now practically pushing a desperate (Y/n) out of the store.

"No please-" (Y/n) said fighting to stay away from the devastating cold of the outside.

"Should've thought twice about your actions now shouldn't you've" Mr Flume said, as the door magically flew open and he pushed (Y/n) back out into the harsh freezing wind.

He swore loudly, but the words were taken away by the frigid wind, and he was left shivering outside the gates of a warm and comfy paradise, that was locked and bared to him

"(Y/n)? Is that you?" A familiar voice called, a voice that unmistakable belonged to a walrus of a man with a large mustache.

"What are you doing out in the cold? Where are your friends?" Slughorn asked him as he approached him, shivering slightly. It appeared that the wind had even managed to beat the natural insulation that Slughorn's walrus frame provided.

"I'm b-banned f-f-rome h-Honeydukes" (Y/n) managed to get out through shivers.

"Banned? Whatever for?" Slughorn asked, slightly confused, and mildly bemused.

"C-can w-we go s-somewhere warmer? P-please"

"Oh my poor boy of course of course, you must be freezing" Slughorn said looking around "here come with me I need to pick something up from Honeydukes. Now I know what you just said" Slughorn continued as (Y/n) opened his mouth to explained.

"But I'm a quite a good friend of Ambrosius and I'm sure I can this all sorted out in no time alright. Come on then" Slughorn said pushing open the door.

(Y/n) didn't even look twice as he scampered back into the store, relishing in the warmth.

"Look here boy I told you before-" Ambrosius started, storming up to him.

"Ambrosius my old friend" Slughorn said pulling him into a hug. "So good to see you again! It seems you know my friend (Y/n) here"

"I know him alright" he replied bitterly. "Nearly burnt down my whole store"

"Did he now?" Slughorn said looking surprised, and slightly impressed at (Y/n). "Yes I see why you are angry at him, but that's all in the past now isn't it? No use holding grudges now is there?" Slughorn said looking between the angry shop owner, and the uncomfortable student.

"He also broke my window, and knocked my wife into a snowbank" Flume continued not taking his eyes off of (Y/n).

"Oh well that... that is something isn't it" Slughorn said looking back at (Y/n). "Well you don't suppose you could-"

"No I couldn't."

"Not even for-"

"Not even for you."

"But we've-"

"Known each other for so long? Then you should know me better by now Horace." Flume said still glaring daggers at (Y/n).

"Oh dear me. Well will you at least make an exception? I mean look at the weather outside it's not right sending anyone out into that? Let him stay in here at least till I'm done? For me?" Slughorn asked him.

"Oh alright Horace but only because he's with you" Flume said finally taking his eyes off of (Y/n), who let out a deep sigh of relief.

"But after that I don't want to see you in here again. You hear me boy?" Flume said menacingly, to which (Y/n) simply nodded.

"Well well (Y/n) seems you've got a mischievous streak then?" Slughorn said with a laugh. "Well you can tell me all about how you nearly burnt this store down while I get what I need"

Hi me again it feels good to be back writing again, I've missed it a lot. Anyway here's another chapter, I know I know a bit boring but I mean some of them are bound to be. These next chapters will take me a while because well to be honest I'm not entirely sure of the sequence of events if the Half Blood Prince so I need to find those out before I can really start to continue.

Anyway while I'm researching and trying to get back into the flow of writing I recommend reading SomethingClever117  or Anonymous_Writer2345 as their series are really good and I highly recommend them. They are two of the best series I've found so far, so if you want something read go check them out.

Also thank you for everyone who has stuck around and stayed with this story, especially those who waited the entire time I was gone, it really means so much to me. There were such amazing and positive reactions to my last chapter, you guys are amazing and I love you so much.
