The rest of the week Harry cling to his textbook like it was his life line. Harry was getting better and better marks in potions, and worse and worse marks in DADA.
This frustrated (Y/n) beyond believe as he actually worked for his marks, and now that Snape was the DADA teacher and the work was getting hard Harry was doing less and less for that class.
And the fact that he was still getting good marks in potions, despite not doing any actual work in the class annoyed him beyond belief.
"He must've made these dowel up by himself" Harry said to Ron, showing him a page in the textbook.
"Or herself" Hermione commented annoyed. "It might've been a girl, the handwriting looks more like a girl's than a boy's"
"The half blood prince he was called. How many girls have been princes?" Harry retorted.
"Could've been a last name you know" (Y/n) added. Harry spent a few more minutes looking over his textbook, before closing it and getting up.
"It's five to eight, I better get going, I'll be late for Dumbledore." Harry explained.
"Good luck Harry" Hermione said to him. "We'll wait up for you, we want to hear what he teaches you!"
They watched Harry walk through the portray hole, and once he was out of sight (Y/n) sprang up and grabbed Harry's 'special' book.
"(Y/n)! What are you doing?" Ron asked him surprised.
"Getting rid of this bloody cheat book" (Y/n) said walking over to the fire.
"Stop! You can't do that!" Ron cried getting to his feet. "That's Harry's!"
"No it's not, it belongs to the half blood prince, and Harry just been stealing his hard work and passing it off for his own." (Y/n) told him angrily.
"Harry'll kill you!" Ron argued with him. (Y/n) sighed, knowing he was fighting a losing battle and threw the book back down.
"Well hello, who are you?" A tall troll like seventh year said talking with Hermione.
"She's trying to read mate" (Y/n) said sitting back down, it was the same troll from Slughorn's train compartment.
"Look I'm not talking to you" Cormac said, in a polite yet condescending tone. "I'm Cormac by the way, Cormac McLaggen"
"Oh Uh Hermione" she said not looking up from her book.
"That's a nice name, are you a sixth year? I've seen you around a bit" McLaggen said not carrying that she was busy reading a book.
"Listen Laggy she's trying to read, something you should try, so leave her be why don't you" (Y/n) said. He didn't like McLaggen when he had met him on the train, and he liked him even less now.
He was a fat headed git who thought himself better than anyone else, that he was the smartest strongest and the best around.
"Listen" McLaggan said taking a step closer "I'm just trying to have a nice conversation here so stay out of it"
"And she's just trying read a book, so just because you don't even know how to open a book doesn't mean you can just go around distracting everyone else." (Y/n) said getting up and taking a step closer himself.
"Listen just shove off" McLaggen said turning around a going back to Hermione. "I was wondering if you were busy this weekend?"
"Yes as a matter of fact I am" Hermione said finally looking up from her book. "Now if you don't mind could you please leave me be I am trying to read here" Hermione said, managing to be both considerate and authoritative.
"Yes... well I'll talk to you later then Hermione" McLaggen said, looking dumbfounded, as if no one had ever said no to him before.
"Bye bye Laggy, don't forget your ego as you go" (Y/n) muttered as he turned to go. "What an inconsiderate git" (Y/n) said glaring after McLaggen as he walked over to a group of seventh years.
"Yeah he is" Ron said sourly "a real git"
"He did seem quite full of himself" Hermione said, having returned to her book. After that not much happened until Harry returned.
He walked back into the common room and sank into a chair before being promptly bombarded by with questions from Ron and Hermione.
He told them all about what Dumbledore had told him and showed him in the pensive, all about Voldemort and the ring Dumbledore was wearing and-
"The Gaunts?" (Y/n) blurted out interrupting Harry, Ron and Hermione shushed him, but he ignored them.
"Yeah I think so" Harry said sounding tired.
"Gaunts, are sure G-a-u-n-t Gaunts?" (Y/n) asked him urgently.
"What yeah I think so- why is it even that important anyway" Harry said.
"And they're related to Voldemort?" (Y/n) asked him sounding nervous.
"Yeah- why's it important anyway" Harry asked sounding more and more annoyed.
"And there was a family crest, on the ring? What was it?" (Y/n) asked him.
"What (Y/n) what's wrong" Harry asked him hearing the urgency and panic in his voice.
"Harry what did the crest look like!" (Y/n) cried.
"What I dunno like a line in a circle inside a triangle, (Y/n) why is this so important" Harry asked him.
(Y/n) then explained to all of them what he had found in his house that summer, about his mum's maiden name being Gaunt, and the family crest on the birth certificate.
"Wait... so are you saying your mum is related to you know who?" Ron asked.
"Yeah I guess, and by extent me too" (Y/n) said not looking them in the eyes.
"Well so what" Harry said putting his arm around his shoulders. "I'm related to the Dursley's does that make me a self entitled git?"
"Not helping Harry" (Y/n) said cracking a small smile.
"You were put in Gryffindor for a reason (Y/n), so what if you're related to Voldemort, you're you not him" Hermione said pulling him into a hug and planting a kiss on his cheek.
"Wait so you're related to Voldemort?" Ron said slowly.
