Chapter 8

"Hey, Jacey" I teased, tickling his neck with magic as he sat in his desk, looking over some files.
"Nows not a good time" he muttered and I frowned.
"What's up?" I asked worriedly
"Nothing for you to worry about" he smiled at me and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Give me it" I demanded, struggling for the paper as e stood up and held it a over my head.
"Stop, Nikki. Just let me handle it" he said, walking past me.
"Fat chance" I said and used magic to bring him back and I took the letter.
"Stop!" He shouted and I read it.
"Dear Nicolette,
I'm happy to inform you that your test results came back in positive. Congratulations, your expecting a baby" I said in shock.
"I didn't know you were dating" Jace said
"Uh, I'm not" I said, puzzled as I reread the letter.
"So, who did you sleep with?" He asked rudely
"I, uh, I gotta go" I said distractedly and took the letter with me to the graveyard.
I knelt beside the fresh grave: Jacob Cobblestone.
"Hey, babe," I smiled through the tears "I'm pregnant. I didn't believe it at first, but I am. It's only been a month since you were ripped from me and I'm working to bring you back" I said
I listened to the eire silence of a graveyard and shuddered.
"I will bring you back. Even eternal damnation can't get rid of me" I joked, but was cracking now.
I broke down in tears, hugging my knees, as I struggled to breathe.
"Hey" Jace said as he sat beside me.
"What do I do?" I sobbed
"I'll help you. Whatever you need, I'll do it" he said and I looked up and met his eyes.
"Take me away for a year. So I can have the baby and decide what to do. Abortion is out of the question" I said
"Nikki-" he started
"I'm only fifteen, Jace. I can't be mother, I'm still a kid. I don't think I'll ever be a good mother" I said sadly
"Hey, you will be. In time" he said reassuringly.
"Please, Jace," I begged "we can just hide out for a year and be back before anyone notices" I said
"Fine, where are we going?" He sighed
"My mother's family owns land somewhere called Heartland. We go there" I smiled
"Fine. Lets go to Heartland" he sighed
"What the hell?!" Calum yelled and tears fell down my face.
"Calum-" I tried and he pulled away
"You lying bitch! You told me I was your first child!" He yelled
"Calum-" I tried again
"How could you?!" He yelled
"God damn it, Calum! I had to! I couldn't handle it!" I sobbed and Aidan rubbed my shoulder.
"Where is the baby, Niko?" He asked gently and I sobbed into his chest.
"He's dead" I sobbed
