Chapter 14

We both laughed as Angel flew us around the gardens, sweeping past unexpected people and finally, we landed beside the little black house.
"Thanks, Angel" I said, feeding her a few sugar cubes.
"Bye, Angel" Thea beamed and we walked up to the door.
"Took you long enough" Mom said and we walked in, seeing everyone else there.
"What took you so long?" Aidan asked, kissing my cheek and set me on his lap as Thea hugged my mom.
"So, what is the quest this time?" Mom asked
"Dexter" I said
"Oh, yes. You need to find him before Michael, a warlock that wants to use his power for evil" she said
"How?" I asked
"A spell. Dexter is only nine, he can't hide his mark from you, but you will face some obstacles and keeping him safe" she said
"How so?" I asked
"Dexter must return to his birthplace on his tenth birthday so the magic of Heartland can protect him from destiny" she said
"Thats three weeks!" I exclaimed
"I know. This will be your most challenging quest yet. Good luck" she said
"Any hints you can give us?" Thea asked
"Peter will return to kill Dexter. Dexter wounded Peter when he was six. Your uncle had told Peter to kill him" she said
"Thanks, mom. We'll find him" I said and stood up.
"Do you still have it?" She asked and I nodded.
"Will I need them?" I asked
"Depends" she said and we all left.
"That was quick. What's next, Nikki?" Sydney asked
"Yea, she never gave us a location" Calum said
"Yes she did," I said and gave them a look "we're going to Heartland"

3 hours later
.
I walked with Aidan and Sydney at my sides, my children behind me and everyone else followed.
"Nikki, what can we help you with?" A pregnant Amber asked
"Whoa! Since when were you in the baby making business" I teased
"Since I became queen" she laughed
"Well, I need to use the weapons vault" I said and she nodded
"Which of you need to use it?" She asked
"Me, Aidan, Calum and Sydney" I said
"Follow us. Everyone else, our guards will show you to the lounge" Amber said.
We followed her down to the vault and I opened the secret door.
There were three doors on each of the four walls and one of them we came from, the one to Otherworld.
Each door had a symbol on it and the room was relatively small, with a love seat and small table the only furniture.
"The Maze Of Corridors," Calum gasped "it became lost after you died"
"It's some of my finest work" I grinned at them and their jaws dropped.
"You did this?" Calum asked
"Yep. It was just one door, but a few months ago, I split them up so it's easier to control" I said and opened the door for Heartland.
"What should we expect?" Calum asked
"You were born there, so your immune to the power shortage" I said
"Huh?" Sydney raised an eyebrow.
"I'm a Royal. I am immune to a degree, but I wasn't born there" I said
"Like Dexter was" Calum said
"And you were. I thought of it as a sort of tradition. I did the same with Daniella, but not the twins because when I was going to head over, you, Dani and Drew appeared" I said
"Let's go" Aidan said and gripped my hand as we stepped through.
The air cleared and the ones who haven't been here looked around in fascination.
"Why did you leave?" Calum asked
"All beauty has it's scars, Calum" I said and walked towards the Dark Forest.
"The Vault?" Aidan questioned
"We're going back" I sighed
