"Oliver, hurry your ass up!" He looked up from where he was sitting on the couch in the dressing room playing on his phone. He was dressing in an all black button up and dress pants and he knew Evelyn was just going to love this. Another knock on the door and he stood to open it. She was looking at her tablet when the door opened.
"About time you lazy-." She finally looked up and her eyes went wide.
"Well fuck. You look hot." He shook his head and handed her his phone to hold during the concert. Unlike all the other guys, he didn't trust the security at all. He's lost so much of his personal belongings during concerts.
"What's time looking like?" he asked as they began walking down the hall and towards the stage.
"Five minutes. The guys are already warmed up and waiting near the back of the stage. By now they're probably already in positions." she informed and helped fix the sleeves as they continued walking. They stopped near the entrance of the stage and the orchestra began the beginning of the opening song, Doomed. He turned to look down at her and she smiled up at him.
"I'm not going to say good luck because we both know you have more luck than sense. So have fun out there, Oli." He returned the smile and pecked her lips before grabbing the microphone from her hand and walking calmly out on stage. She watched in amazement as he sung the opening verse of Doomed.
"So come rain on my parade, 'cause I want to feel it! Come shove me over the edge, 'cause my head is in overdrive! I'm sorry, but it's too late! And it's not worth saving! So come rain on my parade! I think we're doomed." He pulled the microphone away from his lips for a second and smiled at the crowd as the guys repeated the same line behind him.
"And there's no way back!" He jumped around the stage, feeling the liveliness of the crowd despite the formality of the building.
"Come on Albert Hall! I want to hear you! So come rain on my parade, 'cause I want to feel it!" Evelyn found herself nodding along with the music. The atmosphere was like nothing she'd experienced in her twenty-six year of living and she loved it. She already decided as soon as she met Oliver that she'd drop everything for this man, including her ordinary lifestyle. The backup singers began belting out some sort of cheer before Oliver's melodic voice began to mix with the orchestra and his bandmates.
"I've, had enough. There's a voice in my head. Say's I'm better off dead. But if I sing along! A little fucking louder! To a happy song! I'll be alright." His eyes sparkled in the light and he began to head bang. The energy remained the same throughout the concert until about the tenth song.
"My head is haunting me, and my heart feels like a ghost. I need to feel something, cause I'm still so far from home. Cross your heart and hope to die. Promise me you'll never leave my side." He turned his head and smiled at the woman that stood near the edge of the stage.
"Show me what I can't see when the spark in my eyes is gone. You got me on my knees, I'm your one man cult. Cross my heart and hope to die. Promise you I'll never leave your side." He pulled the microphone away and signaled his bandmates to repeat the rhythm once more. He moved the microphone in front of him and took a deep breath.
"Royal Albert Hall! I'd like you all to meet my gorgeous. Lovely. Feisty. And overall amazing girlfriend." He held his hand out towards her and the shock on her face was priceless. The crowd erupted as she walked out from behind the cover of the stage and out into the open. She grabbed his hand and he twirled her around before wrapping his arm around her and continuing to sing.
"Cause I'm telling you, you're all I need. I promise you, you're all I see. Cause I'm telling you, you're all I need. I'll never leave." She felt as he took a deep breath and tightened his hold on her, beginning to sway them back and forth.
"So you can drag me through hell! If it meant I could hold your hand! I will follow you, 'cause I'm under your spell! And you can throw me to the flames! I will follow you. I will follow you." She laughed and stared out at the thousands of people who were staring back in wonder.
"This is my life, love. This is what I wake, breathe, live for." She smiled up at him before looking back out at the crowd that had gone ahead and began singing without Oliver.
"This is what I want to share with you. This is what my happiness looks like. This is what will always be my first priority. And I want you to know that I do love you, but this will always come first." She nodded and turned her head to speak.
"Then I want it. I want to wake up beside you everyday, tour or not, and hear you sing your heart out every single day, Oliver Scott." He looked shocked at first but smiled and continued to sing.
"I will follow you, cause I'm under your spell! And you can throw me to the flames! I will follow you. I will follow you." He ended the song and placed a kiss on her cheek before letting her go to run off back to the cover of the stage. His heart was beating so fast. Sure Hannah and Alissa agreed to the terms but never before has a woman ever wanted to throw away her life for his. Hannah had a tattoo shop to run and didn't really care for his band. Alissa had modeling and hated how he chose music over her. But Evelyn? She was willing to give up everything for him. She got along with his friends. She loved his band although she only just heard of them. And she was willing to give up eight years of medical college to live the touring and rock star life with him. He almost cried when she told him that. And he knew he'd be crying in the shower that night. At the moment though, he was singing his heart out with a new found purpose and energy.
