Her sister squealed over the phone once Evelyn told her the news. Evelyn had FaceTimed her so she could see her reaction. Ronnie was back from tour and was really surprised that she was even dating the Brit.

"Well I'd love to sit and chat, Eve, but we have some shopping to do. Bye!" The screen went back to her contacts. Next was her parents. The dial tone was entirely too loud in the empty apartment. Oliver had run off to film the music video for Ludens, leaving her and the two dogs home alone.

"Hello."

"Mom!"

Evelyn smiled and took a deep breath.

"Is dad around?"

She could hear shuffling and then her mother's voice calling for her husband.

"He is now."

"Ok. Well I have big news. I don't know if it would be considered good news on your part but I'm engaged!"

She thought she would start off small to see how they would react.

"That's great, sweetie! Who popped the question, you or Oliver?"

"Mom." she groaned and her mother just laughed.

"I'm picking. So I sense there's a 'but' somewhere else in there to spill."

"I'm also pregnant?"

There was a moment of silence.

"Is it Oliver's?"

"Dianne." her father said.

"What? Her sister snuck off and got pregnant for some guy we didn't know. What makes you think she wouldn't do the same?"

It was true. Alexis wasn't the only sibling Evelyn had. She also had an older sister who ruined her life pretty quickly and a younger brother who was just starting college.

"You also said that about Alexis, Dianne, but look at her now. And you love both Miles and Ronnie so quit with the third degree."

Her father scolded and she could hear her mother grumbling through the line.

"We're proud of you, honey. Ignore what your mother says. Don't forget to send the wedding invitation and come visit us once that baby's born."

"Sure will, dad."

The door to the apartment opened and she looked over the couch to see Oliver kicking with shoes off.

"Well Oliver just got home. Love y'all and tell Zander I miss his stupid ass."

Before her mother could scold her about cursing, she ended the call and stood up, arms wide open as he took the hint and fell into her embrace.

"You seem tense and annoyed." He groaned in response and she ran a hand up through his hair.

"I believe in you, Oliver. I know you can do it." He chuckled and pulled out of the embrace.

"Well I know who my number one fan is." She gave him a look and slapped his chest.

"And your abuser." she added while walking off towards the kitchen to start dinner. He chuckled and disappeared into her, well, their bedroom to take a shower. They took the liberty of getting most of his stuff from his house when Alissa wasn't there and turned the two empty rooms into a recording studio and sort of like a game room for when the guys came over or he got bored. The looks she got from her neighbor when she finally got the soundproof foam was worrying. Pretty sure they thought she was smuggling drugs or something. Although she loved her apartment, it wasn't enough room to start a family. She just rented the place until college was done and then she'd move back to the United States. Looks like she wasn't going back home.

"What do you think about buying a bigger house?" she questioned as he walked into the kitchen with jogging pants and towel drying his hair.

"I wouldn't mind it. What do you have in mind?" She stirred the food and turned to look at him as he hoisted himself up onto the counter across from her.

"Two story log cabin." He grinned and pulled his phone from his pocket.

"I like how you think, love." He jumped back off the counter to make a phone call. Presumably to arrange where to build and hire construction workers. She shook her head. Must be nice to have more money than you know what to do with.
