Kokichi's POV
Friday. Tonight was the night. The night of prom. The night where I get to dance with Himiko.
Lots of questions were in my mind. Ones like whether Himiko would like my uniform or not. I was also curious on how she looked.
I stood in front of the mirror wearing my uniform. "Looking snazzy, Kokichi." I turned around and saw Kaito. His uniform looked kinda like mine, except the pants and tie were indigo, and his shirt was white.
"Thanks. You do too." I notice he had a bundle of roses in his one hand. "Those for Maki?", I ask with a smirk. He looks at the roses and smiles big. "Heck yeah! I got roses! You said they were her favorite after all!"
I tried to hold back a laugh, since I thought it would be funny if Maki didn't like them. "Well, we should get going! Don't want to keep the ladies waiting, now do we?"
I nodded and we walked downstairs. Kaito's grandparents took pictures of us to commemorate the moment. Then we continued walking to the car. I decide to sit in the back, since Maki would sit next to Kaito and me next to Himiko.
We arrived at Maki's house first.Kaito's POV
I hopped out and knocked on Maki's front door. She stepped out and I greeted her, while I was blushing at her dress.
It was red with small straps around the shoulders and a black bow around the waist.I also noticed her hair was different. It wasn't in pigtails anymore. It was just long smooth hair. "Kaito. You're staring." I shake my head. "S-sorry. You just look... wow."
I noticed her blush. I then remember the roses in my hand. "Here." She took them and smelled them. "How did you know roses were my favorite?"
I scratched the back of my head. "Lucky guess?" I then heard a sound I thought I'd never hear. I heard Maki laugh. Not a loud outbursting laugh, just a small giggle. Even so, it was still beautiful.
"I see you changed your hair." "Do you like it?"
"I'll like any hair you have."
Maki was now blushing so bad that her face could rival her dress. I then realized what I said and blush as well.
"Hey! Lovebirds! We don't have all night!", I heard Kokichi yell. Me and Maki's arms intertwine and we walk to my car.Kokichi's POV
We continued driving until we stopped at Himiko's house. It was now my turn to hop out the car.
I walked up to the house and knocked. Out came Himiko, wearing an orange dress. My heartbeat was off the charts when I saw it. "Hey", she said. "H-hey."
I then shook my head and offer Himiko my hand. "Shall we?" Himiko smiled and took my hand. We walked together to Kaito's car.We finally arrived at our final destination: the school. We saw a lot of students dressed formally for prom. We found a parking spot and climbed out. With our dates, Kaito and I entered the gym.
The entire gym was decorated nicely, with colorful lights and music blaring through the speakers. We noticed the others standing at the snack table. "Hey guys!" They looked at us and waved.
Tenko glared at me. I looked at her confused, before she pointed at my arm, which was wrapped around Himiko's. I gave her a look that said "yeah, so?", and she backed off.
The night went very well further on. I started talking to Himiko.
"You look great." I noticed her blush. "Honestly, I thought you were gonna wear red, but orange looks better on you now that I see it."
Himiko's blush was almost covering her entire face now. "You look good too." I raise an eyebrow while smiling. "Good? Too? I'm pretty sure I said you look great, not good. So you should be saying I look great as well."
"Keep dreaming", she said while giggling. That giggle. It was the cutest thing I've ever heard.
Slow music started playing over the speakers. Everyone went with their dates on the dance floor and danced together.
"May I?", I ask. Himiko nods, and I take her to dance.
Her right hand was on my shoulder while my left hand was on her waist. Our other hands were holding each other.
Kaito had taught me how to dance, so I was pretty good. It was actually simple. Just two steps forward, one step back.
"You're a pretty good dancer", said Himiko.
"Yeah, but I see someone who dances better than you", I say while looking to my left. Himiko was flabbergasted and looked in the same direction as I was. I then took this opportunity to kiss her cheek. "That was a lie."
Himiko was as red as her hair now. The rest of the night went pretty well.Timeskip
Himiko's POV
Prom was over and it was time for us to leave. I climbed into Kaito's car and he dropped me off at my house. Before I could open my door, Kokichi stopped me.
"Hey, Himiko?" I turned to him. "What say we do something like this again? This time without the others and just the two of us? Also no dancing."
I blushed, realizing what he meant. "Like, a d-date?" He smiled. "Your words, not mine."
I smiled at him. "I'd like that."
"Great! How about this Sunday?" I give him a thumbs up. "Sounds perfect."
"Excellent! See you then! Also..."
He took out a piece of paper and a pen and wrote something down. "Since you don't have my number, here it is."
I took it and blushed. "See you Sunday", Kokichi said as he walked to the car. I walk into my house and mentally squealed.
