Himiko's POV

A week had passed since the previous events. Kokichi and I were now officially a couple, and we couldn't be happier.
We were currently at my house, watching a romance movie.
"You know, these two characters remind me If someone", said Kokichi. "And who is that?" "Kaito and Maki. Haven't you noticed how they act around each other? They're obviously in love!"
I placed her finger on her chin. "You know, now that you mention it, I have noticed that lately." "Can't those two suck it up and ask each other out?" I looked at Kokichi. "Don't say that! It might be hard for them. I mean, Maki is an assassin after all." Kokichi shrugged. "I don't see the problem with that." "Kaito could get too involved. He might get hurt." "So? You got involved with my stuff and you turned out fine."
I crossed her arms and glared at Kokichi. "Too soon?" I continued glaring. Kokichi then pecked her lips. "Do you forgive me now?" I closed my eyes and looked away, my arms still crossed.
Kokichi turned my head back to him, and this time he kissed me longer and more passionately. I melted into it with a smile, before we pulled away after a couple of seconds. "Okay, now I forgive you."
Kokichi smiled. "But, I guess you're right. Kaito and Maki do deserve to love. So, maybe we can help them out."
For the rest of the day, we began planning their matchmaking operation.

Kokichi's POV

"Hey, Kaito!", I called "What's up?" "There's this new store at the mall I want to check out. Wanna come with?" Kaito walked up to me. "Sure. Now?" I nodded. "Okay then! Let's go!"

Maki's POV

I was doing pull ups until I heard a knock at my door.
I hung a towel over my neck and walked to the door. I opened it to see Himiko. "Oh, Himiko. What a surprise." "Hey Maki. I was wondering: do you want to go to the mall?"
I raised my eyebrow. "You don't seem like the kind of the person to go to malls. What's the occasion?"
Himiko appeared to be thinking of something. Rather hastily, I might add. "It's... it's a new store! So I wanted to go check it out. But I didn't want to go alone." "Why didn't you ask Tenko or Angie?"
Himiko had her hasty expression again. "Th-they were busy! So I thought I'd come ask you!"
I was still suspicious on what Himiko was really planning, but rolled with what she was saying. "Sure. When do you want to go?" "I was thinking maybe now."
"Okay. Let me go put on some better clothes."

Kokichi's POV

Me and Kaito arrived at the mall. "So, where is this store?", he asked.
"Um, I don't remember precisely. I'll go search around and come get you when I find it", I say.
Kaito, like the gullible idiot he is, believes me.
So, I ran off.
As for the deal with the store, well, that was a lie, obviously. It was just a way to bring Kaito and Maki together.
I looked around and spotted Himiko. "So, did it go well with Maki?", I asked. "Yeah. I just ran from her. Now we just wait."

Maki's POV

I didn't stand still the entire day, but I didn't want to walk off without Himiko knowing where I was.
"Maki?" I looked to my right to see Kaito. "What a coincidence. There a reason your at the mall?" "Why do you ask something like that?" "Just... that you don't strike me as the mall type of girl." "Oh, I see."
There was an awkward silence in the air. "So, what are you doing here?" "Oh, Kokichi wanted to check out this new store with me. He went to go find it."
I was shocked. "Kaito's here for the same reason I am. This can't be a coincidence. This has to be..."
I facepalmed myself. "Maki? You alright?" "They set us up." "Huh?" "Himiko and Kokichi. They're setting us up." Kaito placed his hand on his chin in a thinking gesture. "Oh. Now that you mention it, that does make a lot of sense." I looked away and grumbled to myself, frustrated over what Himiko did.
"Well, we're here now, so might as well make the best of it!" I blushed. Was Kaito asking me out? "There's this coffee shop I know that makes the best takoyaki!" "S-sure."

Kokichi's POV

We watched as Maki and Kaito walked off. "Where do you think they're going?", I asked. "I don't know. Let's follow them", answered Himiko.
We stealthily followed the two lovebirds only to see them enter a restaurant. "A restaurant? I take it our plan worked then?" Himiko didn't respond. She just kept staring at Maki and Kaito. I did same.
Time passed, and I started to grow bored. "Himi, they appear to be hitting it off. Can we go?" Himiko looked at me. "Yeah, okay, I guess."
And with that, we headed off.

Kaito's POV

Me and Maki walked out the restaurant after enjoying our lunch.
"Man, that sure was delicious, eh Maki Roll?"
She remained silent. I looked at her. She was... blushing? "Maki Roll?" She looked at me. "Could we... continue doing this?" I was shocked, but smiled. "You didn't have to ask! I'd love to spend more time with you!"
And that's precisely what we did.
