Nexu Incident

Reys POV

I was in Anikas bedroom cleaning up her toys that she left out before she went outside to play with her porg. Ben always hated the porg for some reason. I then heard Anika screaming and I ran to the window to see that a baby nexu was chasing her. She was running with her porg in her arms to the house leading the baby nexu to the house as well. I then began running down the stairs.

Bens POV

I heard Anika screaming while I was washing the dishes. She then opened the door breathing hard and she was clinging on to me for dear life. I then picked her up and looked at the porg in her arms. I tried to swat it away put it just did a little jump flatting it's wings and jumping on top of my hair and making itself comfortable. I grumbled but Anika was still shaking and breathing hard.

"Anika, what happened?" I ask and pick her up in my arms.

"T-t-he-n-nexu-w-wasc-c-chasingMe" Anika stammers quickly and I couldn't even understand what the poor girl said.

"Anika, slow down, now what happened" I ask again. She took a deep breath and began to talk again.

"A- a nexu w-was chasing m-me" Anika finally says and my eyes go wide then they narrow.

"Anika sweetheart. Go to your mommy and I'll deal with the nexu" I say and put Anika down. She begins to back up. I used the force and brought my newly built lightsaber into my hand. My kyber crystal is white and I remember my uncle Luke telling me that who once had a white lightsaber was Ashoka Tano. An old Padawan of my grandfather Anakin Skywalker. The white color of the lightsaber represented no association with Jedi or Sith. I then began to make my way to the door until I felt someone tugging at my arm struggling to pull it back.

"Ben Solo! What on earth do you think you're doing?!" Rey yells at me but I continue to walk dragging her with me.

"I'm going to kill that nexu for trying to harm my daughter" I reply and continue walking.

"Ben no!" Rey yells still pulling at my arm

"Ben yes" I reply and get to the door

"Mommy... what is daddy doing?" You can hear anikas little trembling voice say out of fear.

"Your daddy was just about to chop some... trees" Rey says as an excuse

"No im going to" I say but Rey smack me in the back of my head "ow"

"Right Ben... you were going to chop some trees". Rey says smiling through gritted teeth and I gulped.

"Yeah... for some... fire..." I reply putting a small smile on my face to look convincing. Anikas trembles calmed down and she nodded.

"I like your hat dad" Anika giggled and I look up to see the porg fast asleep in my hair. I grumbled and went to Anika and got down on my knee. I then bent my head down so she could grab her porg from my hair. She then grabbed her porg from my hair. It woke up a flapped it's wings back into my hair. I heard Rey giggling behind me and also Anika giggling too. I sighed and took it off myself. I held it in place and looked at it. The porg looked back at me and cocked its head to the side. I grimaced in disgust at the porg and gave it to her.

"Why do you hate jerry so much?" Anika asks

"So that's his name" I say

"Hellloooo answer my question please" Anika says

"I don't hate him" I respond

"Then why?" Anika asks

"Why what?" I ask

"Why do you- act so mean to him" Anika asks. I then got a flash back when Rey and I had a force bond and I was shirtless.

"I'd rather not do this now"

"Yeah me too"

"Why did you hate your father..."

"I didn't hate him"

"The why?"

"Why what? Say it"

"Why did you kill him?"

"Dad are you okay?" Anika asks me waving her hand in front of my face.

"Yeah I'm fine... i just... spaced out" I lie

"You're a liar!" Rey says

"How?" I say

"You had a flashback... from our force bond" Rey says and blushes

"Okay you're right." I say

"I know" Rey says

"So am I going to stand here and wait for my question to be answered or..." Anika says impatiently

"Oh... I don't hate him. I just don't like how he likes going on my hair so much" I say as an answer.

"Oh" Anika says and I get up and ignite my lightsaber

"Where are you going?" Anika asks and I turn my head

"To go cut some trees" I say and walk out and I hear Rey following me

"There you are you little...

...baby nexu?" I say in confusion. The baby nexu was in a sitting position with its head cocked to the side.

"I can't kill this" I say giving up and reignite my saber clipping it to my belt. Rey began laughing and I turn around to see her face red.

"Oh really?" I say and I throw her over my shoulder

"Ben!" She shrieks

"I got you now" I say

"What this is like the 2nd time you've kidnapped me" Rey laughs and then gives up once we reach the house.

"You kidnapped mommy?" Anika says and we both look at her.

"This is gonna take a while" I sigh and so does Rey.

"Promise me you won't hate me while we tell you the whole entire story..." I say holding out my pinkie.

"Promise" she says and we sit on the couch.
