The Duo To Trio

Reys POV

I was bringing my scavenged parts to Niima Outpost until I saw a man waiting outside with a droid. I ignored the man thinking that he was just another visitor. I was dragging my net of things until the man called out my name. I turned around cautiously and held my staff close to me.

"Don't worry young Rey. I won't do you any harm" the man said

"Whoever she is I'm not her sorry" I tell him

"I'm sure you do know her because it is you" He says and I eye him suspiciously

"I don't know who you are talking about sir. I would help you with whatever it is but as you can see I can't even leave this planet" I explain to sound convincing but all the man did was chuckle.

"She's a stubborn one Artoo I know" The man said to his droid

"I can't help you I'm sorry but I can't give you some of my portions and water if you're hungry" I say politely

"Rey you can't hide from me. Don't worry I'm safe and I'm not here to hurt you" the man bent down at me and gave me wise eyes that showed the truth to it all. I know I shouldn't just go with a stranger but I got a feeling that he would lead me to safety and better protection.

"Who are you?" I ask

"I'm Lor San Tekka" He said

"The explorer who helped the new republic and the resistance!?" I gasped and he nodded

"It's an honor to meet you sir.... but why would you want to see me?" I asked

"Well don't you want to leave this planet?" He asked and I looked around and nodded

"We'll come on then.... my ships this way" he said and pointed to his ship

"But where am I going?" I ask

"To the resistance of course! They are very welcoming trust me" he said and I nodded

"So I'll get to meet Princess Leia?" I asked in curiosity and excitement

"Yes she and Luke both wanted you there" he explained

"P- Princess Leia and L- Luke Skywalker requested to s- see m- me?!" I asked in disbelief and he nodded as he readied the ship.

"Woah.... I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions sir.... it's just that this planet has been my home and I would have never thought anybody would've known about me" I said softly

"It's alright. You can call me Lor if it makes you feel more comfortable" Lor said and I nodded

We made it to the resistance base and I was nervous to meet Princess Leia. I walked out of the ship and saw a bunch of people whispering and looking at me. I felt a little self conscious but picked myself up with more confidence and walked with Lor. I saw Princess Leia come in view and Han Solo. I held my breath hoping to not say anything stupid or embarrassing.

"It's okay Rey. You don't have to be nervous" Leias soft voice said and I let out the breath I was holding and felt my muscles relax.

"Hello" I said kindly

"Hey kid" Han smiled

"You're probably wondering why you are here" Leia said and I nodded

"I sensed in the force something in you. It is a raw untamed power and Luke sensed it too" she explained

"So does that mean that I have the force?" I asked

"You are a fast learner. Luke will love you. I'm sure Poe and Ben will love you too" she said laughed
