"Well, can't say I didn't die of laughter tonight." Axe said focusing on the mountain road before us. There was a scary curve coming up that I was dreading.

We'd left after long minutes of being told to stay the night and make babies by the large family.

I was stuffed with 6 star class food in my belly and I was sure that I was going to die.

"It was awesome and embarrassing but I lived."

He smiled lovingly at me and leaned to kiss me and I pulled away seconds before he could succeed.

"What?" ahhhh the universal question of guys.

I crossed my arms and pouted,

"You laughed at me when i fell on my face." He laughed a bit infuriating me even further. I indeed fell during the family dance, it was fast and I was a super embarrassing klutz.

"I helped you up." He argued, still grinning. Those dimples popping up again.

"After you laughed!"

He pouted with those baby dragon eyes.

"I love you."He said leaning his head to the seat looking up; not focusing on the road ahead.

"Watch it!"I said in horror as the car began leaning in the deadly direction, where snow and rocks and a big fall awaited. However, the car stopped moving.

We were safe, so I sighed in relief, but it wasn't over as  Axel started to hyperventilate; horror etched onto his face.

............

He wasn't breathing

I was drowning, in a pool...it was a dark abyss. My eyes were open but I could not see anything. I felt myself sinking slowly, the darkness like tendrils....they crept up on me, all over my body like vines on  a tree.

It felt safe here, it felt heavy and I wasn't complaining. For the first time in a while I felt no pain. Even as the water filled my lungs, violating every crevice as it dripped down my throat.

But, in this peaceful place, I heard something and felt something sharp in my chest.

A distant voice called my name through the ambiance, a rock hit my chest hard continuously and I found myself coughing out a fountain of water, no breathing in a river of air.

My eyes shot wide open and I saw it wasn't a rock pressing down on my chest,it was Chloe pumping down on it and breathing air into my lungs, her voice scared.

"Chloe."I managed to gasp, trying my best to get up.

She stopped what she was doing and embraced me painfully.

"Axe!"

"If you think you're too small to impact my life then you've never seen the power of a mosquito in the dark."He remarked, making me feel better about my insecurities.

He laughed as he played with my hair as we looked at the gorgeous stars as we sat in the car enjoying the warmth of the heater. We sat in the back where the seat converted to give us space and look at the stars.
